Hi Dael, I love your videos and this PDF looks amazing. I was wondering what the chances are of it making to print (at least as a softcover). I feel like it deserves a spot on the shelf with Theros, Arkadia, and Dragonlords

Hey Dael and Jeremy, thanks for the awesome supplement! It helped to inspire our group to start up an ancient Greece-inspired campaign, in which I'm planning to play a Forgotten God Warlock with the Pact of the Cauldron. A quick rules question: do the potions brewed in the cauldron have to remain in the cauldron to maintain their effect, or can they be poured into vials for easier transport/use? Thanks again!!

Hi Cole! The potions can be vialed, yes, but remember that they'll begin to lose their magic once you've brewed more than the allotted 3. :)

In the Fighter:Hoplite Sqaud Tactics option "Form Up", you use your own bonus action to activate it, but do your allies require their reaction to move, or do they get to move for free?

Hey, there! With Form Up, there's no need for your allies to use their reaction as written.

Dael, I've watch your vids since Colville outed your terrible companion rules, I guess vague and evocative greatly appeals to me ;) So thanks for being opinionated and overthinking everything. I have only skimmed it so far, the art is fantastic and so many heading caught my eye, Theros seems to be the perfect outlet of your knowledge and insights and i look forward to reading this your first (of many) supplements.

Crumbs! a complete lack of context makes that a poor opening sentence sentence. I, like Colville found your thoughts on animal companions intriguing and thought provoking. So just to clarify

Go watch Dael's MonarchsFactory youtube channel people! she's awesome!!!

Dael, I just saw this book on Matt Colville's latest video. I enjoyed your Thieves Cant from your website, my players enjoyed it more. I decided by buying this book; it would be my way of saying, Good Job. Looking forward to reading it. Oh btw, Happy Birthday.

Big Fan! reviewing stuff now!

just a question though, im a bit confused by the Warlock: The Forgotten Gods' "Blood Tithe" ability.

You can make a blood sacrifice to regain a warlock spell slot level or lower, the offering being your own blood or a beast, with the CR of the beast or the number of Hit Dice you expend determining the level spell slot you regain.

the thing im confused on is this; if Warlock spell slots are always cast at a static level that scale with their character level... (I.E all warlock spells they cast are Xth level)... whats stopping a warlock from sacrificing a rabbit (CR:0), which per RAW says it returns a 1st level Warlock spell slot.... but also per the PHB RAW, wouldn't that spell slot then be upgraded to a higher level anyways?

i could sacrifice a rabbit to get a cheap spell slot back; but technically its a warlock spell slot so it'll cast at a higher level?

Hi Jonathan! Glad you're enjoying it!

The Blood Tithe ability doesn't actually regain a spell level slot for the warlock, it creates a temporary new one. So even though all of the Warlock's usual spells would all be the appropriate level according to the chart in the PHB, the slot created by Blood Tithe works on a different system, allowing it to be of a different level to those. :)

This is a fantastic expansion with amazing art, interesting mechanics, and some great lore too.
I can think of no creator better suited than Dael to tackle the interesting place where Greek mythology meets D&D. Cheers friends, I'll see you in Theros.

I love this so much!!!

Is there any way to import this into dndbeyond as homebrew? I'm going to be in an online game in Theros and I'll make it all for myself if I have to but I figured I'd ask first!

Unfortunately not! You'd have to import it manually into your own game. Don't mind if you do, just please don't make it public!

Super into this pdf so far. I immediately want to play so many of these. However, I do have 1 suggestion.

With the winter ability with the ranger, the ability for a creature to pass once and be immune seems to make it drastically less useful as the others. And seeing as how you need multiple failed saves to become restrained for most creatures, it seems like you'd be better off taking one of the others. My recommendation would be to change it so that they have advantage on the Con Save if they passed the previous one.

Just my immediate thoughts. Still totally love the pdf so far. Well done!

Interesting stuff! I have a question about the Sphinx totem. At level three, does the barbarian only have advantage on saving throws against illusions and being charmed, or are they intended to have advantage on investigation checks to detect illusions as well?

Hi Clint! Just read your question - it would be very tricky maneuver to use a defeated enemy beast for casting in combat, you're right. If your Forgotten God warlock wants to cast this way during combat they can try keeping small, low CR creatures like ferrets on hand to sacrifice, using a lower level spell (such as sleep) to get them where you want them, or try sacrificing the ranger's animal companion*. You can also use the Blood Tithe to cast spells outside of combat, yes.

*We do not recommend sacrificing the ranger's animal companion.

Hey Dael! Duly noted! I definitely won't try to do that thing that you said I shouldn't do. For sure. Absolutely not. Don't know why you even brought it up to be honest.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
