New options for using magical weapons, armor, and spellcasting foci for characters of any level.

Don't outgrow. Evolve! Armaments of Legacy expands well-known magical weapons, armor, and spellcasting items, transforming them into storied relics that evolve and grow alongside your characters.

This product provides the following:

  • Every Item Has a Story: Integrate legacy bonds with existing tables in the Dungeon Master's Guide to turn conventional magic items into fabled armaments.
  • Not Just Another +1 Sword: Legacy items increase in power to match the experience of its wielder. Familiar items such as a sword of sharpness and staff of the magi have been expanded into upgradable items usable at any tier of play.
  • Customize Your Relics: Use the optional runestone and runecasting system to take control of when and how legacy items grow throughout your campaign.
DMG Adept This is a DMs Guild Adept product. The Dungeon Masters Guild Adept program brings talented individuals together for creative development.

Quick question: When you upgrade to the next Grade Level: do you still keep the previous Grade's power? Like if I went from Master to Epic, I still have the features below Master Grade as well as the new Epic Grade features?

*I ask because it seems like the Demolisher Legacy weapon gets nerfed a bit losing out on the Increased Construct Damage/Insta-Kill after upgrading to Epic in that regards.*

Each new power grade retains all of the features of the previous grades, unless specified. Whenever its specified it'll say something like "This feature replaces the one gained etc.." An example of this would be the Master grade of the Resistance Armor.

Under Charger Weapon, it says the wielder has advantage on burst saves. What are those? Thank you!

Sorry about that. It's terminology that slipped in from my sci-fi 5E game (one with machine guns lol). Should be fixed in the most recent file.

Can anybody compare this to Ancestral Weapons?

Very late response obviously, but in case anyone else is curious:

Armaments of Legacy provides several templates which a DM can quickly apply to different weapons, armor and spell foci, and each template has its own cohesive theme which you can see above in the sample pictures. When you move from one tier of play to the next, the items gain new traits that naturally build off those that came before. It is very easy to use and balanced against other items in the same tier of play.

Whereas Ancestral Weapons focuses just on weapons, although there are options for spellcasters too, and rather than a singular template, it provides a list of upgrades players can choose from as their weapons increase in power. Some of these traits have advanced versions you can take at higher levels, but most traits are just useful in general. A player or DM can build a weapon around a singular theme, and it does includes some sample weapons, but you could just as easily just grab a mixed bag of useful traits...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
