Heroes of Ravenloft

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Heroes of the Ravenloft: 13 subclasses, plus feats and other character options, all designed for the dark gothic horror of Ravenloft!

Many new subclasses and other player options fit awkwardly into the lore of D&D's campaign settings, or seem to be written without concern for balance or role-playing well with others. Most leave out the lore you need to know who your character is and where they come from.

Heroes of Ravenloft—written with respect for the experiences of real DMs and players who will take these new rules to the table—humbly seeks to do better. To help you decide, the "Full-size Preview" includes the entire product, all 52 pages. Supporting this project will make it possible to create many more!

If the price is too high for you (especially in these hard times), email blackstaff.books@gmail.com right now for a deal on a free or discounted copy.

Thank you for your time, and for supporting independent authors of tabletop RPGs.

Author Jeremy Forbing is the main creator of the new player options featured in bestselling titles like Elminster's Candlekeep Companion, the Blackstaff's Warlock Codex, and the Ravenloft Archetypes series, which Critical Role creator Matt Mercer praised as "Really grand content! Well thought out, well presented, and a fantastic supplement to any campaign... Highly recommended!"

CHANGELOG: Ver 1.01 fixes typos (especially in the Rogue section), corrects the Pale Magic feature of the Pale Master (previously Returned Mysticism) including an updated list of bonus sorcerer spells, and removes anomolous references to other settings in the Feats chapter.

Is the Aura of Living Light meant to be a 7th level feature for the paladin? There is no specific level mentioned, so otherwise I would assume that it's acquired when the player takes the oath at 3rd level.

D'oh! Sorry for the error, that is absolutely intended to be a 7th level feature.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
