Beware the Druid's Curse...

Once a popular hunting lodge nestled in the Neverwinter Wood catering to avid hunters, Owlbear Lodge has been a forgotten location that Lord Neverember wants to reclaim. Its owners can’t be located, and a recent expedition team sent to the lodge hasn’t returned. Lord Neverember asks the adventurers to find the lodge, locate the missing expedition members, and clear out the establishment of any unwanted riff raff or creatures so new proprietors can reopen it, increasing tourism to the Neverwinter Region.

What no one knows is that the original proprietors broke a contract made with a druid who guards the forest. This broken contract led to the demise of one of the owners, and many of the guests. Now, the overgrown an unkempt lodge is infested with strange creatures. What’s worse is that the adventurers themselves may succumb to the druid’s curse as they investigate the lodge.

Hi Jeff! I think I didn't get the final - you say the thing has to be burned, but players can't do so. What's the resolution then?

Hello! I apologize for the late reply. I don't want to give away too much information in this reply. It's not that the players can't use fire, they just need to resolve the reason why using fire is a bad idea prior to burning the source of spores.

Hi! I don't have any experience with Fantasy Grounds, but I plan to run this adventure on Foundry. Do you know if the Fantasy Grounds version is compatible with other VTTs or if I would be better off purchasing the pdf version?

FG content is not supported outside of FG as far as I'm aware. Best get the PDF assets and import them.

I'm going to run this as a one-shot for Halloween tonight and am curious about one aspect - when do you inform the players about the spores? is that something they are to discover as they explore the lodge? do they have foreknowledge?

Hello Andrew! I don't believe they would have knowledge of the spores until they are in the lodge. Once inside, you can mention the spores as a yellow-green dust and allow for Nature or similar checks for them to determine the dust it spores, but it's up to them to conclude if the spores are harmful or not. If they do, allow them ways to counteract the spores (face covering), giving them advantage on their checks.
I hope this helps!

After the adventures complete the quest, will there be an updated lodge map showing the lodge if they go back and visit?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
