This is a module for the Fantasy Grounds VTT 5E ruleset. Also works with 4E, 3.5E, and CORERPG!

Shops for Fantasy Grounds!

This extension for Fantasy Grounds VTT allows the DM to prepare shops that can be shared with your players.

This extension makes it possible to purchase items for your character, and automatically deduct its cost from your character sheet.

The included module contains shops for all of the items in the Players Handbook.

You can even adjust the markup to change the prices of all items in the shop.

The players can browse through the shop, select items for purchase, and add the purchased items to their character inventory.

Shops can have a limited inventory or items can be set as unlimited.

When the items in the shopping cart are purchased, the cost is automatically deducted from the player's character sheet.

DMs can also set a markup value, making items in the shop more or less expensive.

Random shops can be easily created using Fantasy Grounds rollable tables.

By having the table output a parcel, the parcel can be dropped into a shop to instantly populate the shop with items.

This product contains the extension and a module containing some example shops.

Important
Due to how Fantasy Grounds implements player permissions over module entries, Shops from a module must be copied into your campaign, and the copy shared with the player. Shops shared directly from modules will not work properly.

The new UI update made it so I can't just add shops to my sidebar anymore? How do I access shops now?

Since the most recent big UI update, you no longer have to add it via the options. If the extension is loaded, it will automatically show up on the sidebar in the "Campaign" section.

My players are unable to add items to the Cart in the Shop and do not have an arrow to even click on to allow this. I have exported the shops to a module and loaded it into the campaign, but must have done something wrong...?

Shops contained within modules cannot be used and have those buttons disabled. They must be copied to the local campaign first. Please reread the instructions on how to do this. If this does not resolve the issue, please come to the discord and tag me @mattekure for further help.

Love this, but found something weird or i'm doing it wrong,
When you for example have 1gp, and you buy something for 1cp, it doesn't convert your gold to cp, but instead set cp to -2 cp, i'm missing something here?

That is working as intended. As stated in the instructions, this extension does not make change or covert coinage.

Just bought this mod/ext...when I click to generate a new shop, I cannot interact with the record in any way. Cannot name, adjust markup, drop items in the inventory, nothing. I cannot unlock it and it stays as Read Only.

Just purchased this extension, I was just wondering if there is a way to randomly generate a weapons shop, magic shop, or a mundane/general item shop?

Suggestions:

- clear all button for creating stores
- hidden mark-up button for GMs to set price scale without players knowing, ie: from 0.X - X
- hidden prices for unidentified items
- sub currency calculation, currently markup doesn't work as intended as it's only going to round to nearest gold, that's suboptimal as it stands, transactions merely done in gold seems like an easily correctable oversight :)

Quick question - how do you share a shops between campaigns? I have three different groups, playing three different campaigns. I would like to create in Magic Shop and use it in all three. Is that possible?

Yes, shops can be exported into a module after you make them. Then you just load the module on the other campaign and import it. To export go to the library and click the export button, fill out the info and be sure to select shops to be included

For anyone having issues creating shops. There are multiple ways to create a shop and populate it.

1. Build a shop from scratch. Create a new shop record, then drag items or parcels one at a time over to the shop inventory.

2. Import a premade shop from a module. When you load a module with premade shops, you can open the shop and at the top will be a button to import that shop into your campaign. After import, you can use the imported copy to make changes and share with players.

3. Use the random tables to generate a parcel. The included examples allow you to create a potion shop by rolling on the table to generate a parcel. Then drag that parcel onto a blank shop inventory. This will populate the inventory and the shop can be used.

Cheers!

I was wondering if it is a possibility for the shop to do automatic currency conversions during check out?

No, without going into the technical details, this extension supports many more rulesets than just 5e, and as such the issue of doing currency conversions becomes vastly more complicated.

Minor issue, I don't know if this is a bug or a limitation of Fantasy Grounds, if multiple people have the same shop open and any one of them closes their shop window it clears the cart for everyone who has that shop open. It's not a hard thing to work around but thought I would mention it.

On a separate note, is it maybe possible to have a log of sorts or some kind of message that shows in chat for the DM only when a player checks out from a shop that shows what they bought?

Awesome extension though, has been an amazing addition to my campaign. Thanks a lot for making you guys.

If I remember correctly, there was a video on the shop where they went through all the features. One of the suggestions was to have 1 person at a time use the extension, or there will be accounting issues (they could overbuy).

Sorry, can't seem to find the video on YouTube. Hope this helps!

The cart clearing on close will be fixed in the next update.

The current version should show a message with a list of all items purchased in the chat for both the player and DM.

First off, I'd like to say thanks for this extension!

Just a couple of nitpicky things.

First, when dragging an item that has an incompatible price (ex, "special"), it still allows the item to be added and an error populates in the log. I was unable to clear the issue

Second, the documentation is a little out of date. What is the "Ex" stand for? I'm guessing "exclude".

Third, it may be a little more clear to follow the convention in the Party Sheet for the Markup as a percent (ex, 100, 50, 200). It's easy enough to figure out, but could be a little more clear. Someone else suggested an individual item markup, that would be handy as well.

Again, thanks for the good work!

I've read all the documentation and I don't understand this part "Due to how Fantasy Grounds implements player permissions over module entries, Shops from a module must be copied into your campaign, and the copy shared with the player. Shops shared directly from modules will not work properly."

How does one accomplish this? It is covered nowhere. Thanks!

Whenever you open a shop that is from a loaded module, there will be a button at the top that allows you to copy the shop to your campaign. You will then use the copy in your game.

Thank you for the information, I do see those buttons now in the existing example shops.

When I create a new shop in the shops panel, that button doesn't seem to appear. (And the shops aren't clickable by my players.) Is it because I made a new shop and didn't copy an existing one and edit it? Or does a new shop count as a copied shop already? And if so, any ideas why my players can't click on it? (Added to and shared from player map.)

Thanks so much.

I think perhaps I misunderstood. A copied sheet matches a new sheet, so my problem I think is how I am sharing it. Sorry for the newbishness. Do I need to share the pin *and* the shop in the shop list? (Thanks so much!)

A shop you create within your campaign is already local to your campaign, and so should work fine. To share a shop with your players, you can open the shop, right click somewhere on the window and select Share. To share with only a single player, you can drag the link to the shop to the players portrait

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
