EB-06 The Last Word

ADD TO WISHLIST >

THE HIGHER YOU CLIMB, THE HARDER YOU FALL . . .

Guided by prophecy, the adventurers seek out a spy operating in the heart of Wroat’s Royal Court. The Oracle of War has linked him to a great turning point in Khorvaire’s future, but he’s embedded in deep cover and difficult to reach. Thankfully, every agent has a weak link, and love is blind.
A Four-Hour Adventure for Tier 2 Characters. Optimized for APL 6.

Welcome to the Oracle of War campaign, a new 20-part standalone story for the D&D Adventurers League! You can play this adventure as part of your own Eberron: Rising from the Last War campaign, or as part of the Oracle of War organized play campaign. While this campaign runs under the umbrella of the Adventurers League, it utilizes different rules. You can familiarize yourself with these unique campaign rules by checking out the Oracle of War Player's Guide and Oracle of War DM's Guide, found in the D&D Adventurers League Players Pack.

The relationship diagram says that Orsina, Tybalt, and Cesaria are humans, but other parts of the adventure call them half-elves. Which one is correct?

My players and I are loving this campaign so far!

Seems like a great intrigue adventure from reading it.
However, having an NPC with access to 9-th level spells pop up from nowhere just to make sure PCs don't do anything funny seems way jarring. That 'court mage' is, apparently, on par with established top spellcasters from Khorvaire's history (Mordain the Fleshweaver, lvl 18) and present (Jaela Daran is lvl 18). Previously, leader of The King's Wands, Captain Nebik, was a mere lvl 7 Wizard ('Five Nations', p.61).
The big question is - why doesn't Narcy of Xandra go and sort the whole 'Lord of Blades' situation out, while maybe also kickin' Vol's rotten teeth in on her way back?

Of course the last statement is sarcastic. But the setting-contradicting power creep in the last two, otherwise, spectacular modules (students at Morgarve U being taught Hold Monster, a level 5 spell? Seriously?) are a bit too much.

I respectfully disagree; I think it is entirely reasonable for one of the most powerful mages in the Five Nations to serve as security for a star-studded event that was scheduled to have King Boranel in attendance. Citing 3e sources to establish a sort of worldwide power gauge isn't exactly fair, I feel. That said, it's not the last we'll see of Narcy, and we'll see in future that she has limitations that prevent her from waltzing around fixing all the world's problems. I hope you stick around to learn more.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
