Domain of the Nameless God is a horror-themed adventure campaign created for Dungeons and Dragons (5e). Can you rescue the missing children of Ilmater's Hope, or will you lose your sanity in the domain of the Nameless God?

This is an adventure designed to wear down heroes over time. Instead of the monsters getting more difficult, the heroes will get weaker as they succumb to exhaustion, insanity, and betrayal. They will need to conserve their resources if they are to survive the journey and keep an unspeakable eldritch evil at bay.

I am working on putting together group to run this campaing, Ive loved the pod so far, its been amazing!!! But I noticed that Soren appears as an NPC and not a character. However, I was really looking forward to using him or an analagous character in my campaign. Any suggestions on how to run the character?

Hey Samuel, thanks for the kind words! (please be sure to write a 'review' after you've played one tab over!)
RE: Soren - Just have him be staying in Ilmater's Hope at the start of the adventure. He's a well known tracker who would be quite useful... Otherwise he can pop in pretty much at any moment in the Dead Pines and would happily assist in tracking down missing children. He's friendly like that!

Does anyone know how many players this module is optimised for? The introduction simply states 3rd-4th level players.
Are 5 players of 3rd level suitable to this? Or are 5 too many?
Thanks in advance

I ran it with 6 level 3 players and it ran smoothly. The key for me was making the characters distrust one another and incentivising roleplaying their flaws in a way that was fun for everyone around the table.

I love the podcast and am excited to run the module, but where's the black candle lantern and Ziggy Ziggy? I was really hoping to know more about them and use them in games.

We thought those might be OP for this journey but are working on a possible book of cursed items.

I've played the pre-release from the Patreon TWICE so far, and everyone loves this adventure. I'm a new DM myself and the adventure was detailed and easy to follow. In addition to the new sanity rules, the game touches upon a lot of elements you don't see in many adventures, like exhaustion, and even underwater combat. The game has enough horror to keep the players on high alert and paranoid throughout the whole adventure while still having fun while fighting horrors from our worst nightmares. This adventure is easily worth quadruple what is listed here, and I will personally keep running and playing this campaign for years.

This module literally changed my life. Travis (the maker of this module) is a close friend of mine and I have nothing but respect and admiration for the work he's put into this module. I hope to have a physical copy to put on my shelf one day, but until then, I'll have this pdf close.

Dark , imaginative and superbly written!

I'm a Patreon backer of Fool & Scholar, Travis' production company, and was fortunate to have received my ccopy there.

Fantastic content, interesting system of wearing down the players vs ramping up the difficulty, interesting Sanity rules, and great paired with listening to the Podcast!

I had a pre-release version from the Patreon, but wanted to support this creator. I've been saving this for a special occasion because my main group doesn't like horror, so I have yet to run this - I remember having some issues finding the sanity rules in the old version. The Dark Dice podcast is an actual play (plus guest actors and sound design) of this adventure and is highly recommended (full disclosure, I appeared on another podcast by the same creative team, but that was more than a year after first reading this adventure).
Whenever I actually have a chance to run this, I'll post a review.

Rules Edition(s)
Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
