The Complete Hag

Title The Complete Hag

The Fantasy Ground version is available here

Hags are as varied and complex as humanoids, but they are, with few exceptions, evil. Inside The Complete Hag you will read about their fears, superstitions, worship, strange creations, rituals and how they use the moon’s power for their own goals. The Complete Hag expands the existing D&D canon to 143 pages of history, lore and inspiration. This work can be used for Tier I to Tier IV+ campaigns. This work will not shy away from their evil appetites, goals, or schemes.

Inside, you will find:

- 36 new magic items split between hag gifts and hag weirds
- New rules and tables for a legendary potion of mutation
- Witch fingers, macabre talismas to boost a spellcaster’s power. But there is a price to pay
- 26 new spells, some of which only work underwater or in the moonlight
- All existing canon hag statistics are updated for use with this work
- Rules and Examples of aunties and grandmother hags
- A new type of hag called a nightshade hag for use with Tier IV+ adventures
- 24 new creatures including the arboreal unicorn, gremlin, hagspawn, and ironmaw
- 9 new NPCs including the swanmays and witch hunters
- 3 Immortal Hags (Avatar of Cegilune, Baba Yaga, and Ravel)
- Many supernatural, intoxicating, and poisonous plants and fungi
- Suggestions on how to include hags in your campaigns and worlds
- Professional layout using over 140 pictures on 143 pages

Glad you like them :) I am currently collecting bits and bobs for a future expansion or re-write. Will be at least a year from now but there is so much varied lore I want to incorporate with hags :)

One thing I would like to mention is that the Eye of Perth is way too weak. Hags and their items/weirds have a theme of a year and a day for whichever purpose it might serve, the Eye of Perth begins its harmful effects instantly! I recommend having it be a year and a day before the negative effects come through, give the wielder a taste of power and them punish them for it.

Another thing is that the Death Skull of Infanticide is super weak as well, it requires you to have a seventh level spell and then it only really adds 18 damage when you cast it! An Extra D12 damage is nice, but not for a legendary item. I assume that it keeps the properties of both of the previous death skulls?

Excellent supplement! I'm looking for information regarding the use of your content in other commercial works, such as published adventures. Is this information available somewhere in the supplement?

I was wondering if this book could kickstart a whole series- A series of "The Complete Monster" books. I love how this book dives deep into monsters, lore, and the things they're associated with. So many monster families could use this treatment. I think the best ones to start with would be Azatas, Golems, and Sahkil.

I would love to. This project only involved two people and the burn out was intense. We are about to release version 1.1 and then get it into FG format. I love your enthusiasm :) I spoke with layout and it is the sort of thing I might ponder after I retire from my day-job. Also with the success of this one I would feel more justified adding another 0 to the art budget.

I am new to buying digital books but am adopting the Fantasy Grounds platform. Will this work with FGU?

so Fantasy Grounds will be a separate product. We are about to release our last edit and then I expect it will be released under fantasy grounds 2-3 weeks after that (its a huge work that will require time as it is translated into a different medium).
so this and any other work as a *.pdf will work with anything that can read them. FG has a different ummm formatting?

It seems I have been translating so much work that I am messing up my native tongue again. We have had a very good reception with our work, not "works." :)

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
