Here's another couple of ideas for racial talents that I wanted to run by you:

MONSTROUS SIZE

You were born an unusually large member of your race.

Prerequisite: Centaur.

Benefit: Your size is Large. As a result, you gain the following benefits:

You are considered mounted, riding a mount of Large size. However, since you are technically both rider and steed, you cannot be dismounted.
You cannot ride most mounts. You can, however, serve as a mount for a humanoid of Medium size or smaller.
Your creature type is now Monstrosity rather than Fey.
You have advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks to jump provided you moved more than 20 feet on your turn before you jump.
You can travel for up to 10 hours per day before suffering the penalties of a Forced March.
The damage dealt by your hooves increases by one die.

However, this talent comes with some caveats:

You have disadvantage on Dexterity...See more

Sorry for the lack of response, guys. Been very busy with Dragonix's Deadly Denizens and the Roll20 versions of MME.

For the Talents books, I'm holding off on any update until 2024 when the new PHB arrives. It won't make sense for me to update or make any new Talents books until we see the new changes.

Hello! Sorry this comment is so long, I just had quite a few things to point out and ask about, haha.

A long while ago I asked if you might consider a Kensai monk/fighter talent to remove the kensai's weapon restrictions and let them use heavy and special weapons. I was wondering if you had given that any thought? Talents that let characters choose their spellcasting ability might also help characters with the weird multiclasses (for instance, wizard/warlock using intelligence for their warlock spells), but I'm not sure if that would remove too much of the negative part of multiclassing.

I'm also really interested in a potential book 4, both for new subclasses that have come out and for the multiclasses that weren't explored in this book!

So, a few possible issues I noticed while going through this:

1) You have two completely different features named Fist of the Elements, one for monk/druids, and one for monk/transmuter wizards.

2) Eldritch assassin...See more

Thank you for the effort to provide me with your detailed issues. I greatly appreciate them and helps me improve the book. I'll definitely look into these and make updates, but, unfortunately, I can't do it anytime soon. At least, not until I've completed the second editions of MME1 and MME2. But I will. Please do continue to note any discrepancies or issues so I can address them in the future.

For Master Arcanist under Bard, it states in the example that you 'add half of your bard levels (rounded down) to your sorcerer class and wizard class levels).

The example provided is a bard 9/sorcerer 6, which then becomes bard 12/sorcerer 9 for the purpose of preparing and knowing spells.

But half of 9 is 4.5, and you round down to 4, which means the example should be bard 12/sorcerer 10? Or did I interpret something in the paragraph incorrectly.

Hi Phillip. You are correct, that is a typo. It should be bard 12 (9+3)/sorcerer 10 (6+4). This will be fixed in the next version.

I really love those talents, they help making characters more epic.

Will there be a talents iv? Will that include Artificer and Bloodhunter? I know the last is not official, but still normal available on DnDBeyond.

Hi I had a question about one of multiclass talent prerequisites. When a talent lists "Spellcaster Class Level 4" is this referring only to the full caster classes like cleric, and wizard. Or to any class with the spellcasting feature, including paladins, artificers ect?

Any class that has the Spellcasting feature. Note that the paladin and ranger only gain the spellcasting feature upon reaching level 2. Certain archetypes gain spellcasting class upon reaching a certain level (eldritch knight, arcane trickster). So if the requirement for example is spellcasting class level 4, then a level 4 paladin, ranger, eldritch knight, and arcane trickster meet that requirement.

The talents Ardent Scoundrel and Templar have the same ability, when determining spell level, add half of arcane trickster and 1/3 any other.
Do they stack? Are they meant to be the same?

So Druids have Cunning Beast for sneak attack with natural attack, so Clerics would get the ability to sneak attack with a deity’s sacred weapon or Spiritual Weapon spell?

How does Eldritch Mage work? The prerequisite of Warlock level 3 / Spellcaster class level 3 doesn't provide any immediate benefit as far as I can tell. The Benefit states "When determining your available spell slots in the Multiclass Spellcaster: Spell Slots Per Spell Level table". However the PHB states "If you multiclass but have the Spellcasting feature from only one class, you follow the rules from that class". Warlocks have Pact Magic feature, not the Spellcasting feature. So as best I can tell you don't use the Multiclass Spellcaster: Spell Slots Per Spell Level table. You'd have to multiclass a third class with the Spellcasting feature to gain the benefit. On the same page, Eldritch Academic has the exact same requirement but provides immediate benefit as a result. Am I missing something?

My bad. I can understand the confusion here. It should read: "When determining your available spell slots in your Class or Multiclass Spellcaster: Spell Slots Per Spell Level table, you add a third of your warlock levels (rounded down) to your total spellcaster level.

It now works as how it is exactly stated (and is actually the reverse of Eldritch Academic). For example, if you are a bard 3/warlock 3, and you take this talent, you count as a 4th-level bard in determining your available multiclass spell slots. If you are a bard3/sorcerer1/warlock3, you count as a 5th level spellcaster/warlock3. Hope that's clear.

Yes, I think that makes more sense.

Is there a reason it's "Spellcaster class level 3" instead of 3 levels in Spellcaster classes? It's 6th character level either way and I don't think it shortcuts the "Multiclass Spellcaster: Spell Slots Per Spell Level table" any faster than taking Eldritch Knight or Arcane Trickster, which don't gain the Spellcasting feature until level 3 anyway.

Maybe at level 6 but by levels 7 & 8 a player could achieve the same effect. Maximum benefit occurs with 15 levels of Warlock allowing for up to 5 levels of other spellcasting. The method used in the PHB for determining level on the “Multiclass Spellcaster: Spell Slots Per Spell Level table” seems more balanced in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of your work and just curious as to the decision. Sorry if the questioning came across as rude.

I see what you mean, but the requirement is more of a universal gateway balance to ensure that talents of a similar level of strength can only be accessed by characters meeting the same level of criteria.

However, I'd like to mention that these are optional rules. As I said in each of the book's introduction, as a DM, you are free to manipulate the details of each talent as you see fit. :)

Could you consider a talent for kensei monks to let them take heavy/special weapons as kensei weapons? It's something I was interested in from the older kensei versions. Maybe as a kensei fighter multiclass talent?

It seems thing got a bit mangled under the Mystic talent description. The sentence ""For example, if you are a wizard 3/cleric 3/wizard 3," repeats wizard twice, then it goes on to say "you will count as both a 4th-level wizard and a 4th level wizard in determining what wizard and wizard spells you can prepare..." The same section refers to a "Charisma of 16," is that supposed to be an Intelligence of 16?

Thank you for making Talents 3. I enjoyed the previous ones.

Some feedback...

A lot of multiclass talents allow swapping uses of class effects between classes one way. For example Inner rage, Rage fueld divinity. Ki-Fueled Sorcery amd Sorcerous Ki. I think it is a bit under powered when using half feats. I suggest merging theese into one talent going both ways.

Hard to know who will ever use the talents with weak combos in prereq like Mystic Theurge Cleric 6 + Wizard 6. You will be very gimped leveling up a character like this. Most campaigns ends before reaching lvl 12. After reaching lvl 12 you get more spells known taking this talent making your character only gimped, being several levels behind in spells known and struggling to have both high Int and Wis, wishing they made a Divine soul sorcerer instead.
Suggestion:
Make this come earlier in the career, skip the Cleric 3 + Wizard 3 talent? Also add some MAD relief. Use highest of Wis and Int?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
