Your Shipwrecked series so SO good. My family and I keep replaying it. The pacing, the artwork, the balance, the use of skill's just perfect. We want and will buy more. Please, please, please create another adventure series for solo play (starting at level 1, since most don't).

Hi Scott! Thank you so much for this lovely comment. I'm currently in the process of writing part 5. After part 5 is written, I will be focusing on writing an other level 1 solo adventure for a different game world! Please consider following me on Twitter or Facebook for updates. I hope your family will enjoy part 5 when it comes out.

Not allowed to review this yet, as I purchased it today. But, I THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. I was surprised when it ended so quickly, but it's exactly how long a first level adventure should be. One suggestion...

In the hermitage scene "The Trapdoor" there is a way to detect the trap, and a way to figure it out, but there's no way mentioned to disarm it unless you have thieves' tools. For clarification, maybe you could mention what happens if you try to disarm it WITHOUT thieves tools? Or, you could up the dexterity DC check 15 or 20 for PCs without thieves' tools as they are maybe trying to disarm it with a dagger or something. I just ended up rolling a 21 dexterity check and so went with the idea that the roll was high enough to forgo the thieves' tools.

Anyway, aside from that, an EXCELLENT adventure. Already purchased the next 3.

An extremely well designed and implemented adventure!

I do have a few questions, though:

1) I really could've used a bit more advice on how the final boss fight is supposed to run. In particular, I've never seen an Invisibility trait like she has. I played it as 'the xharite was invisible until she popped out to threaten and Scare the players; now she's visible while attacking, but could turn invisible if she wanted'. Considering that she fights to the death and won't flee, that means she's basically never invisible after she appears the first time.

I suspect the intent was different, though, and that she's supposed to be invisible all the time that she's not attacking or ranting? (The glitterdust seems to be intended to neutralize this defense.) If so, PCs would have to ready their attacks for her appearance, which might change the order of events a bit, and allow her to mess with range, but wouldn't really alter the encounter significantly, as...See more

(Also, the xharite's move should be listed as a flying speed.)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
