Through the Veil: Tales of the Feywild

Are you ready to journey into the Feywild?

Send your adventurers on a journey into the mysterious Feywild!

Through the Veil: Tales of the Feywild presents ten original Feywild-themed adventures designed for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition (D&D5e). Adventures span tiers 1-4 and highlight the fey realm and its inhabitants from classic monsters like hags and satyrs to new foes such as the Night Huntsman, the fabled jabberwock, and a corrupted mother dryad.

Step into the plane of Faerie…

·        A treasure-filled temple and a river streaked with blood

·        An abandoned palace populated by a slumbering prince’s dreams

·        A song of jealousy and loss and a lover with a stone heart

·        A personified stone maze bound by neither physics or nature

In Through the Veil, the heroes are called to break a terrible curse and save a fey knight, rescue a village from shapeshifting hags, and accompany an ambassador from Calimshan to Queen Titania’s court to uncover a deadly plot. They must use clues from an ancient song to lay a sorrowful spirit to rest and traverse a sickly orchard filled with strange fruit. Adventures include a timed race through an icy fey glacier for an ancient artifact made of pure love, a power-hungry fomorian and seven duergar charmed by the statue of a sleeping elven woman, and an elderly archmage in need of escort on her final journey.

Featuring new magic items such as the Prince’s Heart, Lallwyn’s Brooch, staff of the dryad, collar of suggestion, potion of nature’s restoration, portal stones, and more.

The PDF version includes VTT maps as well as an accessible PDF that is high contrast and screen reader friendly! Accessible PDF created by Chris Hopper.

Through the Veil: Tales of the Feywild ranked in Rogue Watson's top 10 DM's Guild titles of 2020.

Through the Veil is jaw-droppingly gorgeous...The production values are some of the best I’ve seen on the DMs Guild.

If you’re a player and you haven’t tried your hand at being a Dungeon Master yet and you dig stories and adventures with fable and fairy tale quality to them this might be the perfect thing to get you behind the DM screen too.

I saw in your comments that the last 3 adventures in this start at levels 13 -T4 ish, but I was just wondering if the adventures themselves include levelling up. Like if you ran The Gypsum Forest starting at level 13, are you still level 13 by the end of it?

Having run them there is no explicit levelling up, so that would be up to you depending on how fast you want pcs to progress. a level every 1-2 of these adventures seems right to me.

Hi! I was just wondering what the starting levels for each adventure are? I am looking for high-level Feywild adventures, so just wanted to confirm how much of this I will use before I purchase.

I rang through Eyes of Stone and will be running more - and posting all to the podcast/youtube: https://youtu.be/YRnJqsfu-HI?t=137 s great little oneshot although it took a concerted press to get it done in a single sitting without rushing.

(Possible spoilers)
I’m thinking about including winter wonderland in my campaign. Is there any specific way the maze should be run in terms of connections, or is it left to the DM to figure out? It’s fine either way—I just want to make sure I didn’t miss any instructions that might help.

Also, could a version of the maze map without lettered rooms be provided for vtt encounters?

Finally, thank you for this very awesome product. Amazing job!

I reached out to our maps team. Due to the large size of this map, they were unable to get it into VTT. I am super sorry!

Hi, Jeff! When I wrote the 'Winter Wonderland' adventure, I tried to leave as much as I could open to the DM's discretion and I encourage you to hack the map and make it yours. When I run it, I connect all over the place, but it doesn't have to be that way. The important thing is the connections should be 'impossible' in just 3 dimensions. The maze should disorient and frustrate the PCs, but not to the extent that the players themselves are frustrated and annoyed. That's a fine line and one that only the DM can intelligently arbitrate. I trust you to do the right thing for your group. :)

I hope you and your players like the adventure. It was so much fun to write.

I thought that would be your answer! :) I very much look forward to putting my group thru this. (One member is fond of mapping -- very much looking forward to the perplexed looks. Welcome to the Feywild!)

Once again, very nice work.

Thanks, Elise.

Just to be clear, I wasn't asking about a specific VTT format. I import the maps myself into Encounter+, so I was just wondering if the JPG could be generated without the letters marking the rooms, like is done with other "player version" maps. Not a huge deal if that's still a challenge, but wanted to make sure we were talking about the same thing. :)

Are the adventures designed to fit together in a campaign narrative, or are they completely independent?

The adventures are independent of one another but there are a lot of shared themes. I don't think it would be hard to string them together into a campaign.

Adventure collections like this are some of my favorite kinds of resources to have around. I love fey stories and material too so this is a homerun. And it's just fun to look and read through!

Hello, great product. Is it possible to get the maps in a separate zip folder so we can easily use in vtt. I would be awesome if it was gridless as well and without labels but I'll take what is available.

The preview file has some graphical glitches (such as the top corners of pg 5).
Will the printed books have these as well?

Hi there! I am the cartography lead for this project and while I don't have my hardcover in my hands yet, I do have the PDF and these glitches are NOT in it! I would imagine that these glitches are not going to be in the printed version either, as the book went through several rounds of reviews before it was approved for print. (I was not the one approving it though and have never seen the printed version, so take this for what it is).

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
