What Lies Within This Module?

So, your party has finally arrived at their next destination, only to immediately dart into the nearest tavern, get drunk, start a fist-fight with the locals,
and then decide to derail your carefully crafted plot further by looking for quick bounties to wet their whistle on..which, of course, you haven’t had time to prepare for!

Perhaps you, as Dungeon Master, have a player missing from the table, and need a quick one shot bounty to keep the rest of your player’s dice roll requirements sated until their illustrious return the following week?
Or, perhaps you’ve just picked up Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus, only to discover you can’t find a way to quickly drop all those fabulous new devils and demons into your homebrew campaign...
Whatever your dilemma, Monster Hunts: Avernus is here to help!

Brought to you by the minds behind the Mithral best selling 100 Monster Hunts, The Greasemonkey's Handbook, and Here’s To Crime, Monster Hunts: Avernus offers a way to
integrate each fiendish foe found in Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus into your conventional D&D games, be them fantasy rich epics, city focused adventures, or a homebrew campaign of your own design.

In this module, you will find:

  • A collection of 24 unique and wonderful monster themed quests, from bizaare combats with far too many chickens to taking on Tiamat herself!
  • A 60 page, full colour adventure book, with maps for each individual hunt, prepped and ready to go.
  • 20 brand new magical item rewards, earned from carving up monsters and beating up devils!
  • Craft the pox ridden Bulezau Hide armor, or question your sanity with Gilden Ramses' Infernal Cookbook!
  • 2 new monster hunting NPC stat blocks to quickly inject into your campaigns.
  • Over 96 hours of Dungeons and Dragons content (and probably more if your players are as slow as mine!)
  • 4 random tables, divided by adventuring tier, for quick and easy hunt generation.
  • A new vehicle statblock, created using the Greasemonkey's Handbook: The Comprehensive Guide to Mech Construction in D&D5e.
  • Many high - risk hunts, offering a variety of challenges, both roleplay and combat.
  • Minimal prep time - pick a hunt, grab your books and get right to it.
  • An easy to use hunting system, revamping the original 100 Monster Hunts system into a bigger, more fleshed out adventure book while retaining ease of play!

I am having an issue where I encounter an error upon loading FGU -- the error is as follows:
[10/21/2020 8:07:51 PM] [ERROR] Process Data File (Monster Hunts Avernus): An error occurred while parsing EntityName. Line 3675, position 24.
[10/21/2020 8:07:51 PM] MEASURE: MODULE LOAD - 0.0280222 - Monster Hunts Avernus

I don't think it's loading properly and would like to see about having this issue resolved. If I need to report this somewhere else, please let me know!

Hello Jason. Our discord is the most effective method to get these issues addressed.

This module is designed to function in Unity as of right now because Fantasy Grounds Unity (FGU) is still in early access and undergoing frequent updates that may cause issues that must be fixed on their end. I'm unsure if this issue is one of those issues or one we can fix on our end but it is currently being investigated to address this issue as quickly as possible for you.

Please feel free to monitor our discord for updates at the link below but I will make sure to post an update once everything is investigated and corrected!!

Hello Stanley,

I'm sorry to hear that. This module was developed prior to Unity being released into beta and has not yet been updated to be unity compatible BUT it should work smoothly anyway but simply not have any Line of Sight.

Can you let me know what error you getting either here or on our discord at:

I'll open up the XML and take a look. MOST of the time that error is directly related to fonts that FGC accepted but FGU refuses to accept. For example an ampersand (&) is accepted in FGC but unacceptable in FGU. I'll get it figured it out and fixed for you as soon as I can.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
