The Feyforged

From the Records of Ignys Byr, Leader of the Arbiters:

The Feyforged are a unique people, so similar to us but so alien all in the same breath. Their connection to the elements of nature is unprecedented and unheard. When the original six arrived to aid us in the fight against evil during the Last War, the Principle was caught off guard. They did not know whether to welcome them or be cautious.

However, many now dwell within the ranks of the Arbiters, and I have yet to encounter any in our clashes with the Deceivers – although I am sure that Leydgrym and the Lord of Blades would only be too happy to have some within their ranks. The feyforged are a goodly people, a lesson of what we could become.

Children of Artifice, Children of Arcana

The feyforged are an enigma to most of Eberron, with few elves or practitioners of fey magic knowing just how they came to be. Traditionally, almost no warforged could form a bond with the elements due to their nature of assembly, but in the midst of the Last War, a group of six emerged from across Khorvaire to aid the fight for salvation.

Since then, small communities have appeared in these separate corners of the world some coming from across the seas in Xen’Drik while others dwell deep within the earth. All that can be truly agreed on is that the massive power these warforged wield is unlike anything scholars have seen across all of time.

Even draconic scholars on Argonnessen are confused as to the origin and birth of these individuals, for it does not even appear within their prophecies. However, to many average citizens of the world, they are welcome sights in their cities and towns – bringers of aid and good omens.

What Do You Get?

Within this book you get a number of different things: primarily, a new warforged variant called the Feyforged empowered by elemental magic. They have eight subraces: frostforged, stoneforged, earthforged, fireforged, waveforged, windforged, starforged, and shadowforged. Each subrace features different elemental powers and abilities, ranging from the practical to the badass.

Additionally, we have a collection of magic items called shasht, ranging from uncommon to artifacts. These shasht were ancient masks built for feyforged warriors to wear and grant them incredible powers. Over time, more and more have been discovered, or at least recorded.

We from the Feyforged team hope that you enjoy using this book at your table as much as we enjoyed making it.

Cool book, I have a few questions about some racial abilities: Forge Gut, Call of the Waves, and Serrated Claws all require opponents to make saving throws, but there's no mention of what their DCs are or how are the DCs for these saves determined. What stat should I use?

And for Forge Gut, what exactly does "half on one" means?

Also I agree with Pamela C, tremorsense through rocks is more reasonable than blindsight.

Hi Lawrence! we are going to be doing a big overhaul of the Feyforged and Xorforged in the coming months, and those abilities are part of that - as well as a lot of other things as well. So for the time being, for the DCs, I would say that they are based on your own Constitution or Strength saves. Being one of our most popular books, it is time for a big remake!

Awesome, looking forward to the new version! And thanks for the advice.

BTW, Windforged's Drift-By is another ability without DC that I missed.

Drift-By would be Dexterity!

Thanks - I am excited to get it out to share with you all!

Major kudos to you guys and especially the artists for making such rad examples in the book and cover!

A suggestion: The Earthforged's 120ft blindsense feels very strong for an innate racial ability. Wouldn't a smaller radius and/or something like tremorsense make sense?

Hi Pamela - thanks, we are super glad you liked it; I take really great pride in trying to find fantastic artists who can bring our writing to life! As for the Earthforged - it is meant to be very powerful, all of them are with the idea being you would have a solely feyforged party. But I am taking notes from folks so I will definitely write yours down. Thanks so much!

You would be 100% correct Damian! This and our book Xorforged are both inspired by Bionicle.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
