Snail Tale: A 4 hour Tier 1 Salvage Mission

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The Shield of the Traveller has a mission, and you've been picked to do it! Old Salty is a creature that has lived in the Gray since before the Day of Mourning. Your job is to kill it and bring back its shell!

Snail Tale is a salvage mission for AL games set in Eberron. It is optimized for 5 character of APL 3.

This is a beta test. There might be small errors, and I haven't included any images in the main rulebook yet. If you spot an error, please let me know!

Requires creature information from Eberron: Rising from the Last War, the Monster Manual, and Volo's Guide to Monsters. Full salvage rules are available in the Salvage Bases and Missions product available on DMsGuild from the official AL team.

Suggestions:
* Include the Wisdom (Survival) check DCs for finding the adventure locations in the Mournland, as well as a chart of mishaps when the party goes off-course. (If you've played any of the Eberron: Oracle of War games, you'll know what I'm talking about.)
* As written, Old Salty only has 5 flail attacks (but has 6 antennae). Instead, specify that Old Salty has 1 flail attack per 10 hp (max 6).
* Specify Glitter's patron. (I used the Forgotten Prince from Exploring Eberron.) Leaving this detail out is a bit like having an NPC cleric where their faith is not mentioned.

This adventure was a blast and I'm eager to play through your other works!

Fynn It says this is a 4 hr adventure on the front cover but the overview says 2 hrs. Please add page numbers and a scale on the map.

Hmm, the page numbers must not have exported properly. I'll fix these soon! Thank you!

For those curious, the VTT grid dimensions I have found for the maps is 20x20. Can't wait to be able to try this with my players. :)

By the way, will you be venturing into Tier 2 territory at some point (either with part 3 or a later part)?

I've been running these myself, and I've got about 6 on the backlog. I'm starting to run T2, so you can expect the modules to follow in a couple of weeks from now. :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
