Codex of the Infinite Planes

Volume 20: Blessed Fields of Elysium

Open these pages and learn about the pastoral realm of peace and rest, the Blessed Fields of Elysium!

The mythical Codex of the Infinite Planes is a massive book containing information on the very planes of existence. Too many for one document to tackle, so it's been divided up into volumes covering individual planes. Crack open the Codex in this continuing volume and learn about the Blessed Fields of Elysium, a plane dedicated to the ideals of common good for all. Home to the guardinal celestials and other good creatures, Elysium offers the weary planewalker a chance for reste - but there are still plenty of secrets to uncover across its four layers, including within the mighty River Oceanus!

Inside this volume you'll find the following information ...

* An overview of Elysium, including ways to get there, how to survive, how to get around, and what to avoid

* A look at the powerful entities of Elysium, including Hhallashaa the Great Jellyfish, Ishtar of the Star, and the Six Companions of the Guardinals!

* 10 new monster statistics, including the delphon, guardinal celestials (avoral, cervidal, equinal, leonal, lupinal, and ursinal), luna jellyfish, moon dog, and sunfly!

* Details on the hazards and phenomena to be encountered across Elysium's layers, such as Easy Restfulness, Golden Rewards, and the Path of Good Intentions!

* 13 interesting sites and treasures to be found within Elysium, such as the Bubbling Sea, City of the Star, Isles of the Holy Dead, Laughing Hall of the Companions, Roaring Purple Rapids, and the Tower of Sun and Song!

* Adventure hooks for all tiers of play!

* A random encounter table for Elysium

The Codex of the Infinite Planes awaits ... will you risk opening it?

Is there any chance that Tower of Sun and Song is associated with Pelor? Are you legally able to include Pelor or other core D&D deities in your books?

You could certainly make that association pretty easily! Unfortunately given what can and can't be referenced on the DMsGuild currently I have strived to stay away from gods tied to specific settings, such as Pelor, Nerull, and the other core gods from 3E that are canonically part of Greyhawk. Further to that point, I've tried to pull back from the idea that the planes are the homes of the gods themselves to varying effect. If Greyhawk gets added as a setting I plan on going back and adding some references in an appendix. Thank you for your interest!

I've bought each one of your compilations in this series. My DM loves to use them for ideas!

I really love your subclass options! Will you be doing any more subclass options with these last books?

Also, I'm having a hard time using the link to your latest outer planes compilation. Maybe it's just my phone being weird, but are people struggling to get to that page?

Thank you, these are an absolute blast to research and put together! And there's so much content left unexplored in each plane, but I've got to put a sanity limit on myself if nothing else!

I love developing the player options but I was finding it was taking a lot more time than the gazetteer data, so after Vol 15 I decided to focus on the gazetteer details (overview, hazards, travel details, monsters, lore, powerful groups and creatures, interesting sites and treasures) and circle back to the subclass and player options after Vol 26. I've got a worksheet of details that I keep ideas but I need time to work through them. Likely I'll pull all the player options together into one compendium and work on updating it regularly, but selfishly I'd love to have it all POD so I'm not sure the best course.

I haven't heard any issues on the bundle pages, and it looks like it loads for me. I know the mobile site can have some quirks in it that may be the cause, so I apologize for any issues.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
