Tomb of Annihilation Expanded

Part 4: Wreck of the Narwhal

Do you wish Tomb of Annihilation had more content and maps? Do you wish there was more jungle in your jungle adventure? Are you too busy to prepare all this yourself?

Then this is the product for you!

What it included?

  • 30 colorful maps, including battlemap variants for the Wreck of the Narwhal, several random encounter maps for out in the wilderness of Chult, and maps for the sidequest adventures!
  • Two new sidequests, each with maps, encounters, treasures, and interesting stories that add to your Chultan adventure experience.
  • At least 11+ hours of additional content!
  • And MORE!
This product contains thirty maps, all of them add-ons to the Tomb of Annihilation adventure.  That product is not required for this supplement to be beneficial.  These maps and encounters can be added on to your own jungle adventures even without the Tomb of Annihilation adventure campaign.

To save money, consider buying the Tomb of Annihilation Expanded [BUNDLE]

The bundle will be updated with each additional expansion!

11+ hours of additional content is an extreme exaggeration here. The pack doesn't contain 2 side quests, it contains 2 side encounters which is a dramatic difference, I genuinely don't know how you can stretch these two combat encounters across 11+ hours.

For this particular pack as well you'd hope the content has something more to do with the Wreck of the Narwhal but does nothing to give further detail to the ship, I feel that it should be called the "Gnolls of Dread Valley Pack" that you might run into if you go to the Narwhal.

as a new user to Dm's Guild in general, I didn't realize that the preview exists unfortunately, that being said I've bought the bundle and was very disappointed with the "30 maps", when in reality in this particular it's 7 maps with one or two assets changed or a greyscale thrown over the top of it and call it night - Specifically with maps like Jungle07 and Savanah where it's just a mostly flat block of colour with 10 or so pre-made assets pasted across it and really stings as a purchaser in amongst the quality of the other work such as needle's bones and lost nest in the other packs and the wreck maps from this one.

I'm sorry you feel that way. May I suggest in the future you look at the Quick Preview and screenshots before you purchase something so you know what you're getting. I usually do not get complaints about how my maps look. I'm sorry you don't like them.

I didn't hide that the product is primarily two sidequests and 30 maps, primarily random battle maps, as the Tomb of Annihilation adventure is often considered one of the best Wizards of the Coast 5e Adventures, but that it can get bogged down by repetitive random encounters. Most of these expanded ToA products that I've made included several random battle maps specifically to give players and DM's a variety of maps to keep these encounters from getting repetitive and stale.

But I cannot help it if you do not like the art style of the maps. Which is why the products have the Quick-Preview available, so you can see the art.

TBH, I took a look at the maps and they look fine to me. Better than I can do, many of them and $5 doesn't seem unreasonable. It takes time to create maps and more time to write stuff.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
