Spoiler for "Ooze There?":

Hello, I see this module features Sovad a lot, meanwhile in Ooze There? there's a chance that he'd die to the Black Tentacles. How would you suggest dealing with this?

Also in a case whereby we get a mix of players that succeed and fail Ooze There? How can the DM resolve it?

It doesn't make sense for Sovad to live and die in the same universe. Maybe this info could be added on the revision of the module.

Hey there! Thanks for checking in about this.

Like any self-respecting Red Wizard, Sovad's got a few people owing him favors (and him owing favors to) that helped bring him back after Ooze There?. The Forgotten Realms is a high fantasy setting, and death is seldom permanent after all. ;)

How the players did though will affect his opinion of them (see the sidebar). You can tally up the total number of successes and failures, and use the result to determine how he treats them. In the case of a tie with an equal number of successes or failures, you can ask the players how they interacted with him, and determine at your discretion if they made a good or poor impression.

I have thought this through and decided if my party decides to kill him, or else fail to save him, in his final moments he will relay info using a stone of sending to a peer roughly outlining proceeding and begin to describe the party (in case of hostilities) before being silences by the death knell. Then later youll meet the peer who is dressed in the same robes and is suspicious of the party.

Do let us know how your group does and what story award they get! Like the previous adventure, their successes have a bearing on the final part of the trilogy. :)

They did well - besides being caught off guard that they were going to be on & under the water. The priests at the end hit them hard but they managed to sway the living thing at the end to help. They earned the Story Award – Honorary Pearl Shell Salvager. They did not earn the Second Seal award. Running Ooze There and Ooze next again this coming weekend - spent the time to setup in roll20 - need to utilize the setup.

Glad to hear they did fine, and that they got the Story Award too. :) That will definitely come in handy if they play Part 3 in the future!

The first part has a special place in my heart because it was the very first module I played in when I started doing AL. Not to mention the very anime-forward illustrations have enticed me further. (And I laughed my XXX off at Sovad's obviously tsundere note on the scroll XD)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
