I wondered if there is a reason some items, like Fragarach or Gleipnir, aren't listed in the Table of Contents?

I haven't bought it yet, so I'm sorry if they're in there.

These items are not included in the Artifacts of the Old World. Where did you see their names?

Oh, I'm sorry, if I caused confusion. I meant it like this:

When I read through the content table, I noticed that there were items like Móralltach, or items I've never even heard before like the Animated Hoe or Brisingamen.
But other famous items, like the sword Fragarach, or the magic thread Gleipnir, aren't in there.
So I wondered if there was a reason that some famous items aren't listed in there.

Again, I'm really sorry for causing confusion.

Oh now I understand!

This project is the collaboration of various people from various cultures. Each person would write about one ore more "artifacts" from their culture. We wanted to make more "weird" artifacts that have probably never been statted before but also some iconic ones.

It was matter of which items people decided to represent in D&D, there was no big list with the most famous items from each culture to check out, we each made what we felt was appropriate. Hope that answers your question!

You are correct the layout artist must have skipped it! Unfortunately we can't add it back due to some internal issues.
16-17 is a Neutral Evil Empyrean
18-19 is a Tarrasque
20 is a Solar which is the only "positive" summon

Hope that helps out!

Do you have plans to make this into a Fantasy Grounds module? If not would you be open to discussing allowing me to convert it? I have a lot of experience with some popular books ranging from Hamund’s Harvesting Handbook to Elminster’s Guide to Magic. Among others. All great ratings. I can turn this into a fully featured, fully automated DM resource. If you have someone else working on this I look forward to buying the module as I am currently buying this book.

Hey there! Thanks for your interest and your kind words. Artifacts of the Old World is indeed coming to FG but we are already in talks with the person that did the Monsters of the Old World conversion.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
