None of the chat triggers produce a sound and the default sounds only play thru the web and not discord like the DOE sounds, is there a way to make the sounds go thru discord?

There seems to be bug whereby text within the chat triggered by damage is not being parsed by the plugin. (So, with my skin, any text preceeded with a blood drop - not sure if that is universal or skinned)

For instance, when a character takes damage:
Damage[5]->[to Scissors][DAMAGE EXCEEDS HIT POINTS BY 5][STATUS:Dead]

The above will not trigger any sound (in this case a trigger for dead), regardless of setting up regular expressions or not. If I just drag and copy the same text into the chat, the sound triggers.

Exactly the same with me. In my case its the critical hit and fumble does not trigger any sound but dragging and copying the text into the chat triggers the sound.

I think I know the cause of the problem. In my case, the chat output on damage:

Damage[5]->[to Scissors][DAMAGE EXCEEDS HIT POINTS BY 5][STATUS:Dead]

was not triggering a sound because of the preceding line, which was:

<CHARACTER NAME>: [DAMAGE(R)] Crossbow, Light [TYPE:piercing(1d8+4=10]

These two lines, one for the crossbow hit and the second for the damage, are seemingly outputted to the chat window simultaneously. In my case, the crossbow hit line triggers the crossbow sound but then no sound is triggered for the Death. However, if I disable the crossbow hit sound trigger (just by changing its text match string to something that is gibberish) then the death sound occurs.

So, there seems to be a timing issue either with the parsing that this module does or with the call into the SyrinScape API. To add to the complexity, this is not reproducible. Sometimes (though not often), the death sound will trigger. I originally...See more

Hi, in the "fantasy ground syrinscape module" it is stated that only sounds you own will work. Whereas here we need a syrinscape sub to use "chat triggers", I noticed that there was a spell module of 5$ in syrinscape, is there another module that I'm unaware of where these sounds are linked too? Do you need to have the sub, because that's the only way to upload the pre-made sounds to your syrinscape account? We only plays one session every 1 or 2 months. So a subscription would be rather expensive. Thus if possible, buying the chat triggers such as the spells module in syrinscape, would be more economic for us.

Is there a list of words these trigger off of? I use Mattekure's sound mod in Morecore and am worried too many of the chat triggers are 5e oriented. Is that a valid concern?

There is within the mod, however, the whole point is that you can edit or add your own too.

I'm really enjoying this plugin, and very thankful for its existence since the old soundlinks module was out of date and stopped being developed.

I've noticed a few "buggy" things that I hope could be addressed in a future update. Mostly it has to do with triggers being overly sensitive. What I mean is that the triggers need to be refined a bit, because they get triggered in the wrong places. The one I noticed a lot today was "rain." We were fighting stirges, so whenever they used their blood drain attack the rain sounds would start. (Blood dRAIN was triggering the rain sound.) It also happened any time a player character was restrained. (Because the chat text said restRAINed.)

Maybe the triggers could be adjusted so that they only trigger if the text string is the exact word, and not part of another word or phrase?

You can adjust the regular expression. The VAST majority of people are not going to understand regular expressions. On top of that, Lua (which I believe is the scripting language all these plugins are written in) uses a non-standard regular expression-lite library that is confusing to anyone who is used to a fully featured reg-ex library, but nevertheless it is there for you to play with.

The developer could add a more sophisticated UI to add regular expressions automatically based on common needs. (Like - the match must start on a word boundary (what you need)). Even with regular expressions, matching text so that there aren't false positives is pretty tough to do.

In this case though, you can simply look to match a single space at the start of the expression for rain:
[Rr]ain
%s[Rr]ain # added a space. This will match: "It is raining outside." But not match: "Blood drain" Unfortunately, it won't match: "Rain is great", because the...See more

Hello and thanks for a great product. I am having a couple of minor issues though. I am using your product in FG Unity, and although I get the sounds if triggered by dragging and dropping say an attack roll or fireball spell into the chat area, or onto the combat tracker etc. the sound triggers and I hear it. However, the only sound that seems to trigger if I type into the chat box area is "fart" of all things! I guess maybe that's all we really need to express ourselves, but...!! Anyway, besides that, I also don't get the option of creating a new chat trigger when I open the Chat Triggers panel and click on the Group drop down. It has All, Uncategorized, Actions & Conditions, Location & Weather, Misc., Spells, and Weapons, but no "new" option like you show in the attached video. Lastly, I don't know if this is an error or not, but if I click on any of the chat triggers in the panel below it opens up another panel that just has the name of the trigger, a little radio button saying...See more

Just a thought, every time you update I have to edit the unconscious so that the death sounds a little more appropriate. If you are interested I use "death" and "instant death" Goblin Battle -> Man Cry (syrinscape-fantasy:elements/Z29ibGluLWJhdHRsZTo6Z3VhcmQtY3JpZXMtY29weWEtMA/play/)

It's a personal choice, we leave it what is most commonly used. The GREAT thing about it is you can change ANY OF THE SOUNDS to what you want. But yes, if you update it will revert to the "status quo".

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
