Fire is a powerful, frightening and all consuming creature.

The Australian bush’s evolution is in part from a patchwork quilt of burning, either by accident or intentionally through “Firestick Farming” by The First People of this land. Species have adapted to evade, endure, or even benefit from small and low intensity fires. In recent years, 2019 -2020 especially, the dry time has been longer, the fires wider spread and the damage beyond belief. Our wildlife has been struck hard by habitat loss.

There have always been volunteers that have sought to reduce the impact on affected wildlife, rescue, heal and rehabilitate both the animals and plant communities. They have been struggling with the sheer number of casualties and many have stepped forward to assist in supporting them in this immense undertaking.

The TTRPG community has proven its generosity again and again for those in need. This wonderful tome is an extension of that generosity. Creatives from all around the world have contributed their skill with words, images, narratives and layouts to celebrate, explore and support the wild and wonderful creatures of a land “Down Under."

All profits from sale of this tome will be going to Wildlife Victoria, whose mission is to help and protect wildlife through their rescue, education, and advocacy activities.

"The small wombat burrow village of Underhearth has lived peacefully with the surface dwellers since anyone can remember. But now a raging bushfire threatens to endanger the delicate ecosystem and life that has been built here for generations. Who is responsible for the fire, no one quite knows. Perhaps it was a misbehaving joey or a malevolent fiend bent on revenge for a long forgotten slight. Whatever the reason, the villagers must now come together, both wombat and surface dwellers, to save their way of life."

At least in the preview, "Foreword" seems to be erroneously written in both the table of contents and the section heading itself as "Forward".

Hi there Brittney and all the authors related to this awesome project!

Thank you for this supplement both for its original content and helpful support for the wildfires. Here's the video review we did for this one and hopefully this will help spread the word. Let us know if you would like to include it in this landing page, and thanks again!

Appears to missing an important wombat stat. A scat stat if you will. They produce cube shaped poop to mark their territory. :D

Thanks for a great adventure and your support for the devastating fires here down under.

Hi, I wrote and designed the Wombat Player Race along with Britney's help and there is one reference in the stats to the poop issue. Under the ability score section it says "due to their common sense and intestinal fortitude."

Sorry, but that's as close as I could bring myself to referencing that fact about Wombats (even though it's my favorite fact).

This adventure looks really cool and sounds really fun to play. My questions to the creators and those who have played it is: how long is this adventure? Is it a opensandbox adventure? Are you suppose to only choose the wombant race?

All really great questions. If you look in the Adventure Primer most of these questions are answered for you but I can do a quick summary.

Play time: The average play time should be 4-6 hours or one session depending on what sort of play style your group has. This can take longer/shorter depending on how many encounters you include.
It is a VERY open sandbox adventure and you can do the encounters you choose in any order you want, some may even lead organically into others.
There are a few different story hooks that we present on how to get the adventure started and characters integrated. You can use the the pregens provided, make your own character with the Wombat Player Race in Appendix D or use existing characters that are transformed into Wombat PCs, (use the Wombat Player Race Reference Cards). Playing as another race is not what was intended for this adventure but that is not saying it couldn't work narratively within the story.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
