Prince of Beasts

Against the prevailing whiteness of snow, a trail of crimson cuts through the hamlet of Shiverrun, nestled against the mountainside south of the Spine of the World. Blood streaks the ground like a road drawn lazily upon a map, passing by stone igloos carved from the mountain itself. These dwellings were previously occupied by the unfortunate souls that settled in the fierce cold of northern Faerûn. Now they are all but empty. What endures is the skeleton of a community; the hollow bones of a village ravaged by nightmares much darker than the dead of winter.

A stag mauled beyond recognition scrapes across the icy, snow-covered ground. A clawed hand clutches its legs, hauling it through Shiverrun with terrifying ease. The animal’s lifeless form bounces as it is pulled up cold stone steps toward a ruined temple. Windows covered with boards and nails. A roof struggling to resist collapsing under the weight of snow. From the outside, the structure resembles yet another hollow bone in a skeleton village. Inside, however, a den of evil welcomes another sacrifice.

A demonic cult thirsts for power in the frigid north.

In the Abyss, the Prince of Beasts waits patiently.

Battle against a savage cult, a family of yetis, the horrors of an abandoned tower, and so much more in this adventure for Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition.

Included within are:

  • A full adventure for a party of 5th to 7th-level characters
  • 4-6+ sessions of material
  • the detailed village of Shiverrun
  • 3 magic item descriptions
  • 3 NPC stat blocks
  • 2 encounter maps.

Thank you to all who try out my first ever DMs Guild release. I hope playing it brings you as much fun as writing it did for me!

Prince of Beasts is a super meaty and substantial adventure that is well worth the price. DMs are guaranteed at least several hours (and likely multiple sessions) of play with this foray into arctic horror & mystery! Daniel Herridge has crafted a [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
