50 MORE Notice Boards: Quests, Contracts, and Bounties

"Which one, though?" Depth, Who Lies Beneath asked. They had been standing outside the jail for nearly a half hour reading notices from the locals.

Roland furrowed his brow and wiped some sweat from his face with a handkerchief. "I cannot say I have much interest in traveling half-way across the globe just to hop aboard a ship, regardless of the reason. Perhaps one of these bounties? This one is quite lucrative." He tapped the carefully scrawled bounty with his thick finger. "Or, mayhaps, we should try to save this cursed halfling. He seems an innocent sort."

Depth put some of her long emerald hair into her mouth and mumbled, "-Ou chuus." When Roland turned a quizzical eye to her, she spat the hair out of her mouth and shouted, "You choose and we go!"

Rolan yanked three notices down, crumpled them into balls, and tossed them into his ostentatious hat. "We shall draw for it! Let fate guide us!"

Less than two hours later, they were knee deep in a stinking bog with a handsomely dressed musician on Roland's shoulders, wading into the unknown in search of a creature that most certainly would not want them there.

"Oh yes, 'let fate decide.' I'll never trust Fate again," Depth said through a mouthful of hair.

"Then next time, choose one!" Roland spat back, dragging his boot out of the mud.

Give 'em More To Do: The world is a huge place. Regardless of where you go, there are tons of individuals that may wish to hire specialized assistance. DMs, though, already do so very much work crafting and adjudicating a world in which their players can gallivant. It can be enjoyable to finely craft a massive, sprawling adventure for your table to tackle week after week, but sometimes... you may find yourself in need of a sidequest. A short jaunt to fill the gaps in your plot, a pre-prepared way to pass the time, regardless of where your PCs may find themselves. 50 MORE Notice Boards was made specifically to give you a resource to pull names, locations, quests, jobs, and even advertisements from that can fit into practically any wolrd. If your players are the type to ask if every NPC needs help (or what their name is), then this PDF is guaranteed to be a perfect purchase for you.

Thoughful Layout: This PDF comes in 5 forms: Single column, Double column, Single column Printer Friendly, Double column Printer Friendly, and unformatted for easy use with accessibility readers. While this PDF is considerably longer than my previous volume, it supports a 14-point font for easier reading and wider margins to help cut out quests and present them to your players. I wanted as many people to get use out of this PDF as possible, and I hope it shows.

Improvisational Ammunition: Each quest inside 50 MORE Notice Boards is written as a seed for you to nuture and grow or harvest immediately. They were designed to offer just enough information to rope your players into a quest beyond the central story of your game while offering you chances to grow and evolve them into much, much more. None of the quests or bounties contain specifics as to where or when, what the story could be, or specific references to CRs or page numbers in official publications. Each quest should inspire your DM to curate it to suit your table! A quest to destroy a cursed amulet could lead to summoning a yochlol demon to consume and destroy it... OR, it could be solved with judicious application of a hammer and no fewer than three curse words. Tailoring these quests to your table and your players will do wonders to develop your improvisational skills and make your game world feel alive and dynamic.

NPCs are Present and Accounted For: I am pretty good at pulling names out of thin air, but we all know many are NOT. Having a starting point for NPCs can help marvelously. A famous adventurer, a traveling tortle, the name and proprietor of shops, or the captain of the constabulary - there are more than 50 NPC seeds here for you to use how you see fit. Some may even become beloved long-term additions to your game world!

More than Just Gold. There was a lot of time and effort spent on offering unique and strange rewards to seeing these quests through to completion. From talking weasels to magic items, sacks of gold to writs of passage, even NPC companions (whose stats are yours to decide) to accompany the party for a set period of time. There is even man-hours owed by a mercenary company... I cannot even imagine what players would use that for, but I am sure it'll be glorious and absurd.

I absolutely love this supplement. The different notes really do sound as if they could come from any notice board in town. There are a good variety of postings for a notice board, going from charming to very creepy, each of them with its own fl [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
