Terror Beneath the Frozen Gate

Welcome to the village of Joarl: an unassuming motte-and-bailey farming community where a mysterious enchantment has entrapped its inhabitants beneath a layer of ice.

The story begins as the adventurers arrive at Joarl’s icy gates. Investigating the frozen community uncovers strange creatures and dangerous secrets hidden within.

This is a Tier 1 adventure designed for characters starting at 1st level. Those who uncover the secrets of the frozen village and save its residents will likely reach 5th level by the end of the story.

Oh wow, this is an exciting adventure. It is nice to see an adventure to supplement The Great Dale Campaign Setting. I hope more will be developed for this region. Thanks!

Thanks so much! Jeff, Karl and I are pretty thrilled with how it all came together.

I'm now coordinating a compilation of more Great Dale adventure goodness for later this year with some impressive collaborators. I hope to share more about it later this spring via my twitter account @_joe_raso or my blog at https://theschemingdm.wordpress.com/

Not yet, but it is something we've considered.
Unfortunately, I don't have a timeline for when we'll have one available.

Nicholas M posted the following question, which I received via email from DriveThruRPG but for some reason it's not visible here, so I'll post and answer below:

Nicholas M says:
Vixie not being frozen by the spell... is this because she comes and goes as she pleases and wasn't actually in the village at the time, or is it precisely because as an arctic fox, she was immune to the frozen spell?

Joe's Response:
Vixie was present when the village froze. As an arctic fox, we gave Vixie "Damage Immunity. Cold" as a rationale for why she was unaffected by the event. Without spoiling other encounters, there are a one or two other encounters where something also resisted the effect for different reasons.

Is this AL legal scenario? Very interested in it.

Hi Jaejoon,

Thanks for the interest.
Unfortunately our adventure is not part of the AL league program.
However, Karl, Jeff and I like to think we've created a very accessible adventure.
It brings characters from 1st all the way to 5th level.
Hope you give us a try!

Cheers,
Joe

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
