Flight of the Magpies: an Eberron adventure

Explore the exciting world of Eberron in one of its most colorful corners, then take to the skies! an exhilarating adventure awaits.

In Flight of the Magpies your party is employed by a famous band of sky mercenaries to do a simple job: find out which airship will be transporting a mysterious prisoner. Simple jobs turn into crazy adventures in Eberron though, and this module is no different. Will the party rise (or fly?) to the challenge?

Flight of the Magpies is an adventure for a group of players at level 3 that can be played early in an Eberron campaign to start things off with a bang. It was originally devised as a one-shot and can still be played as one, while also being a fun introduction to this game for new players. It will take 3 to 5 hours to complete as a single session, or it can be split in two shorter ones. This adventure is appropriate for beginners as well as experienced players, and contains enough information on the World of Eberron that you don't have to do any "homework" to play it (though you will likely want to after you are finished!).

Statblocks for all the custom enemies you may fight in this adventure are also provided, so that you can start playing without having to own any other book. Did I mention that you can finish this adventure without killing anything though?

Here's what people have said about Flight of the Magpies: an Eberron adventure:

"Not only is one of the most accessible and easy ways in to adventuring in Eberron, either as a one shot or a brilliant campaign starter with bags of inspiration for further tales of daring and hijinks, Flight of the Magpies is a veritable Golden Saucer of bright lights, mini games and (optional) gambling, on top of the thrilling airship to airship boarding and prisoner extraction. The information and ideas are laid out in such a way as to promote inspiration, improvisation and variety, with the details and answers readily to hand, making it for perfect for new and experienced Dungeon Masters"

Sebrina Calkins

"A quirky adventure great for new DMs, including a fun romp through Stormhome before infiltrating an airship. I love that the layout design isn't afraid to try something new; rather than just delivering information in an impersonal fashion, this whole supplement feels like a laid-back chat with a wise friend. This adventure is clearly a labor of love, and it paid off."

Hi! No I did not work out CR and XP values for these creatures, but you can use equivalent creatures: Dire Ape = Yeti, Beetle = flail snail, shocker lizard = faerie dragon. Similar drakes are in Volo’s too and for Vincent I would say CR 4

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
