Secrets of Icespire

The hinterlands were never this exciting!

This product includes 8 quests (presented on notice boards), eight adapted maps by Dyson Logo, four bounty hunts with new stat blocks (also on notice boards), twenty random rest encounters, and three new sidekicks! The templates for the notice boards, and the separate notes are included as image files as well!

Secrets of Icespire is a collection of quests, random encounters, bounty hunts, and sidekicks for adventurers of level 6 and above who shake up the hinterlands. The content can serve as a basis for the continuation of a Dragon of Icespire Peak or Lost Mine of Phandelver campaign or as a standalone source of adventure and inspiration. Thematically, the quests best fit into mountainous regions but can be easily adapted for different environments. Only a Dungeon Master's Guide, Player's Handbook, and Monster Manual are needed to run the content. Consult the System Reference Document as an alternative to these books, which includes most of the needed information.

Hi, great package, am using it to segue between LMoP and DoIP after picking up the Tale of Two Dragons conversion. Just one thing, I'm playing on Roll20 and I could really do with knowing the dimensions for setting up the maps. I had a look on Dyson's Patreon and blog, but couldn't find it their either. Would be really handy to know to aid scaling the maps and setting the page dimensions correctly. Many thanks!

Hey Trevor! Happy to hear that :) Regarding your question, I don't use Roll20, so I'm not sure what you mean by dimensions. Probably not the pixel count or aspect ratio, that you could find out from the file itself. By convention, the squares (grid) should be 5 by 5 feet if that's what you mean, at least I don't think I ever used anything else for my games.

Hi Christian, thanks for getting back so fast, and actually I should be able to work it out from the EXIF data with the pixel count. I'm good with the grid being 5 feet, but was trying to work out how many grid squares the whole image would be to fit on the page. However, I forgot that I can also do it with the pixel count on Roll20, so thanks for reminding me (I'll let you know when I've figured it out to help anyone else in the future). Many thanks!

Wonderful bundle. Could you post the cover picture without the words? It's great as a backdrop to show the players

Thanks, much appreciated! I uploaded the picture into the product, you can download it there. It's a slightly altered oil pain original of Albert Bierstadt. If you make a Google picture search with the name, you'll find several breathtaking pieces! Have fun :)

Great sidekicks - a little stronger than the official ones in stats (78 total instead of 74) and abilities (I think) but there is one omission - the Leader is to get a new Feat at levels 4, 12, and 16 but the feat for level 16 is not listed. I wonder if you were thinking Alert or Observant? Or having the player/DM/"sidekick" choose a feat from the list?

Hey Erïch, glad you like it! :)

You actually spotted an error there. On 16th level, the leader is only supposed to get an ability score improvement like shown in the Leader table. The text should read "At 4th level, and again at 12th, the sidekick gains a specific feat according to the Leader table, as explained in chapter 6 of the Player’s Handbook."

I probably just copy/pasted the text from a different sidekick and forgot to correct it, my bad! I'll put it on the list for future fixes. Thanks!

Are there any player maps included in this? I can seem to find any without the labels...

Hey Leland, first of all, thanks for buying! At the time, I either completely forgot about the player maps or thought people could download the originals from Dyson's blog. But since I altered many of the details, I went ahead and uploaded the package. You should have access to it! Hope you have fun! :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
