Eight Nights of Mishegas: A Chanukah-Inspired, Tower Defense-Style Adventure

Suggested Price $2.00

Welcome DMs Guild Newsletter folks! I'm glad you're here, and I hope you enjoy this fun and unique module. Also, please considering financially supporting this work. You may have noticed the metal badges on some work. What you might not know is that that only paid sales count toward those metal badges. Even a single penny counts! Thank you again, and enjoy!

The town has been ransacked by the army of the evil King Mishegas, yet the temple’s Holy Lamp has remained lit, inspiring a rebellion in this region. Help is on the way but the adventurers must protect the lamp through eight nights of assaults from cruel, ugly monsters, starting with just a few Schlemiels and Schlimazels but then escalating to a massive hoard, along with them jagunda Machers, Momzer snipers, and Meeskait gnomes armed with magic.

Can the brave adventurers vanquish these verkakte nebbishim, or will they turn out to be nothing more than schmendricks?

Will the townspeople be at all helpful, or are they shmegegge kadokhes?

Will Dreidel the Smuggler be a mensch or putz out just when needed most?

How many of these words have you needed to google?

This adventure is perfect for your Christmas/Holiday one-shots. It's designed for a party of 3rd to 5th level characters but can easily be adjusted to fit a wide range of parties. Enjoy!

Congratulations on succeeding your Investigation check. Here, I list 14 other spellings of Chanukah so this will get picked up in more searches. Ready? OK. Hanukkah Hanukah Hannukah Chanuka Chanukkah Hanuka Channukah Chanukka Hanukka Hannuka Hannukkah Channuka Hannukka Channukkah. That oughta do it!

Oh wow, free for 1 day, haha. That is unfortunate as I missed it.

Reading the preview there is a lot of info here, not necessarily a good thing. Has anyone read through this entire thing? Is it worth the purchase?

Hey Dustin, just for some context: I wasn't informed that my product was going to be advertised as free (in fact I wasn't informed about anything at all). I originally posted it as PWYW, which isn't the same as free. The most important distinction for content creators is that copies that sell for $0.00 don't count toward medal badges. Overall, about 10% of PWYW titles are non-zero sales, but because DMs Guild said this was "free", this one suddenly dropped to about 3%. So I set this to $0.50 -- the lowest price DMs Guild allows -- because the badge is important and I hope folks would be willing to swing less than the cost of a candy bar to satisfy their curiosity about an interesting and unique module.

I appreciate your interest, though, and I'm happy to send you a free copy. Send me an email at DMSheldon87 [at] gmail and I'll send you the promo copy asap. Thanks!

Hey, just wanted to update: I put it back to PWYW with a note for folks to please consider financial support. I got my hackles up earlier because I was frustrated, I apologize for that. But I got a lot of attention here and I don’t want to take advantage of that in an unfair way.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
