EB-01 The Night Land

STEP BOLDLY INTO THE MOURNLAND!

The brokers of Salvation pay good coin for artifacts scavenged from the haunted battlefields of the Mournland. In this nest of cutthroats, daring explorers gather to carve their destinies from the ruins of Cyre. They’ll need all the help they can get: it’s no secret that most scavengers don’t survive their first expedition in the Gray. This Tier 1 adventure is optimized for APL 1, and is the first adventure in the four-part Spoils of War storyline.

Welcome to the Oracle of War campaign, a new 20-part standalone story for the D&D Adventurers League! You can play this adventure as part of your own Eberron: Rising from the Last War campaign, or as part of the Oracle of War organized play campaign. While this campaign runs under the umbrella of the Adventurers League, it utilizes different rules. You can familiarize yourself with these unique campaign rules by checking out the Oracle of War Player's Guide and Oracle of War DM's Guide, found in the D&D Adventurers League Players Pack.

Not a bundle per se but as a public service I've assembled a wishlist of all 25 canonical modules(including the Epic modules and the Salvage Bases supplement) for folks to more conveniently purchase them.

Technically, there are 26 published official adventures for this storyline.
The one you've missed is DDAL00-13 'Knuckleheads and other such curiosities' which contains a festive-ish winter module the legacy event from which does sorta come up in EB-20.

At one point there was a discussion of doing a print product with the complete campaign (all of the Oracle of War adventures), but I don't know if that will come to fruition, or if it is even possible.

How did your party manage the train? Did they save Garundah?

I adapted it a bit based on their actions. Ultimately they completely dodged it. They ended up rolling her back to Salvation and brockered with the Silver Flame to save her.

So, given the current circumstances, would anyone consider turning the Adventure Records into form-fillable PDFs? That is if Wizards doesn't do it themselves : P

Before the adventure begins is fine. There are teasers but no spoilers that I am aware of in the newspaper. But once the story unfolds, the newspapers can provide an "Aha!" moment.

Unfortunately, that information was removed during editing and development of the adventure, but it can be figured through context. The PCs, like the train, start 200 feet away. The "pet" is halfway between the PCs and Garundah, 100 feet from each.

Since the train moves faster than the PCs Is this intended to be a puzzle that they have to figure out. It seems like they have almost no chance unless they are fast and very lucky.

We've not released a map of Salvation yet, but one is forthcoming. Zodor's office is just one of the many building in Salvation, and you can put it wherever it best works for your game.

Im running this for a home game and given the circumstances of the adventure, salvaging and vying for jobs, etc, I highly recommend adding The Acq Inc rules for franchises. The adventure and the Eberron setting fit with it like a glove. My group is having a blast with the melding of them. It’ll be even more fitting with the Acq Inc stuff when the rules of base building/side quests are released and the Acq Inc franchise base stuff is applied. Fun adventure, Shawn. Kudos.

The adventure is very good, but I had 2 questions:
1. Why is there a market in Salvation, but it is not described what you can buy/sell on it?
2. In Chapter 2: Rolling stones, in the Follow by tracks section, it is indicated that when a body is searched, the characters find 1 healing potion, but it is not included in the Adventure Rewards. Are you planning to add it?

I really enjoyed it. A couple comments:

1) The final encounter has the same adjustment for "strong" and "very strong" parties. IMHO, its way too much for a strong party, at least if you start the enemies at a ranged distance. I'd recommend cutting the adjustment at least in half for strong parties.

2) I'd love an unlabeled map of Salvation for the players to fill in, and a bigger map showing where Salvation is on the Mournlands border.

Thanks for the reply. Adjusting for Tier 1 is wonky because of the discrepancy between level 1 and level 4 characters. "Strong" in an adventure make for level 1 characters but covering all of Tier 1 should be a table of 6 3rd-level of thereabouts. If you only have level 1 or 2 characters, then definitely don't use strong, even if you have 7 players. Stick to normal.

I'll let Will know about the map. The Salvager's Guide to the Mournland should have those things you are asking for.

We were just doing some editing to the entry, so that might have been an issue. Try again. If it still doesn't work, you'll need to contact DM's Guild support to find out what the issue is. I am able to download all the files with no issues.

Salvager's Guide to the Mournland is in design. "Early 2020" is the best I can do right now. I am still hoping for a January release, but there are too many factors at play in its design, editing, layout, approval, etc. for me to be any more specific than that.

From the latest version of both the Oracle of War Player's Guide and DM's Guide:

Are the adventures from the Embers of the Last War campaign or the Forgotten Relics adventure from Eberron: Rising from the Last War legal adventures to play in the Oracle of War campaign?

No. The only adventures that are currently legal in the Oracle of War campaign are the Core Storyline adventures (with the code EB) and the Eberron EPIC adventures (with the code EB-EP). If any other adventures become legal for the campaign, the adventure will say so specifically, or it will be announced and noted in the campaign documentation.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
