"This is the honest truth, I really like that book(UTT) too. I don't buy a lot of newer stuff off the guild...That's actually one of things I deliberately bought when it came out and I thought it was really well done. That's no bulls***! Go and buy it if you haven't bought it already!"

-Guild Adept: M.T. Black

Unearthed Tips and Tricks: Volume I is a collection of ideas and concepts from the Crit Academy podcast. A D&D discussion podcast designed to provide guidance and inspiration to both players and DMs. Many of the ideas and concepts are system agnostic and can benefit players and DMs in many other systems and settings, now for Fantasy Grounds!

What you get:

Character Concept: We offer character ideas that can help bring your character to life. Whether you need a full character idea, or use them as inspiration to enhance your already great character.

Monster Variant: We can often find that some of our favorite monsters get a little predictable, or we want a little more variation in our selection. We have enhanced many of the monsters in the Monster Manual with; feats, player features, or other monsters features to create new and interesting variants of your favorite little beasties.

Encounter Ideas: Here we offer a collection of ideas and scenarios that can be used as a jumping off point for an adventure, or dropped into an existing campaign. It's chock-full of unique ideas and scenarios that we hope will spark your creative side, ensuring your players have an experience they will never forget.

Magic Items: Here we share some of the phat lootz we've used in our own campaign settings as well as offer some brief thoughts into some of the clever uses of those items, as well as some potential uses and hooks for those items.

DM Tip: Being a DM is tough work. Sometimes we could use a little bit of help. Much like a bag of holding, this section is packed to the brim with tips we've learned over the years to help you deliver the best gaming experience possible.

Player Tip: Often times, we as players can take for granted the massive amount of work that the DM puts into the game. In the end, we don’t spend much time thinking on what we can bring to the table. The golden rule every player knows is "Don't be a D*ck!" In this section we give you 25 tips on how you can avoid doing just that.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
