Welcome to The Great Dale - LANDS AND LORE!

The Great Dale is a land in the Forgotten Realms found within the Unapproachable East, a long journey from the Sword Coast. It is a land filled with ancient and terrible secrets waiting to be discovered. Here, powerful druids clash with the fiendish taint left behind by an ancient empire. Opportunity and intrigue await those who join the rush of factions seeking to control the rejuvenated city of Uthmere. Above all, the Great Dale is a land of adventure.

The Great Dale - Land and Lore provides an overview of this exciting area of the Realms. Inside you'll discover the following chapters extracted from the Great Dale Campaign Guide:

  • Chapter 6: 13 magic items used to tame a war-torn land.
  • Chapter 7: An overview of Dunwood, the Dale, the Forest of Lethyr and surrounding lands.
  • Chapter 8: A history of the Great Dale.
  • Chapter 9: An overview of the factions that influence the region.
  • Chapter 11: A collection of adventure ideas to create your own campaigns in the Great Dale.
If you're interested in discovering a collection of new NPC's and Creatures from this region, please take a look at The Great Dale - Creature Codex, or if new character builds sound interesting, checkout The Great Dale - Character Options!!

Check out the balanced and comprehensive REVIEW by Brandes Stoddard at Tribality.com of the full Great Dale Campaign Guide.  For the complete volume, we received a 7.9/10, with high marks for our Settting and Monsters

"On material alone, this is a substantial work."

"The setting material in this book sheds a lot of the cruft and gets to the good stuff."

"...the setting material is strong, evocative, and feels immediately usable..."

"...the Great Dale does have connections to other parts of the Realms, but they’re minor enough that this is a great entry point to the Forgotten Realms, especially if you love the Mirkwood. If you don’t care one way or the other about the Realms, this is still a good contained setting with a lot of conflict and room for heroics."

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
