Baldur's Gate: The Fall of Elturel

Baldur’s Gate: The Fall of Elturel is an introductory two-hour adventure for Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus or Tyranny of Dragons for 1st-level characters.

What appears as a normal mission to stop the Cult of the Dragon in the Elturgard Woods reveals a more sinister plot undertaken by the Cult of the Dead Three. This adventure seeks to invest the characters in the fall of Elturel by making its descent more personal.

Also included in this product are three new character backgrounds: the Hellriders, the Order of the Gauntlet, and the Flaming Fist. These backgrounds include detailed information on each faction and ranks that allow characters to advance within each organization by earning renown. Additionally, this adventure includes two new magic items; a bone of animation (from M.T. Black’s Mordenkainen’s Tome of Marvelous Magic) and a rose of Bhaal

Whether you're running Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus or Tyranny of Dragons, we hope you enjoy this adventure and that it motivates your players and their characters to save Elturel from utter destruction.

Can anyone tell me what the name in the last paragraph on the Appendix B letter from Rezmir is?

"Bring the treasure to me then or ____ will come for you." It looks like ULTISS but i cant make it out.

Yes, it is Ultiss, the name of the Cultist from the Cult of the Dragon that confronts the PCs as they leave the Dungeon of the Dead Three in DiA.

Would it be possible to add a gridless .jpg or .png of the maps?

Just bought the adventure and I can't wait to run it with my party (once we finish Saltmarsh!). It's a very nice work, with an incredibly professional look and incredible art.
That being said, are you considering adding a printable version? And maybe separating the backgrounds from the main adventure so we can give them to our players?

At this time we do not plan on making a printer friendly version due to the costs associated with that. However, we just added a pdf with only the character backgrounds. You should be able to download the character backgrounds and share with players. Enjoy!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
