Any news on Animal Sidekicks 2.0? If you're looking for someone to play test just the Wolf, that's specifically what I'm playing with at the moment using your Animal Sidekicks 1.0.

I'm very interested in this, is there list of the 40 animal companion? I'm looking for something for a crab as one of my players really wants one. But if not, maybe they can settle with one of the other 40 options.

So I can see from the Sample that it only goes from 1-6. Is there plans to expand it, or update it for further levels?

We are currently working on Animal Sidekicks 2.0 that will take some of these animals from level 7-20 as well as some new animal friends.

Looking forward to it. We mostly play Duets and it's a lot more fun with an animal companion, feels more natural. This product is awesome :D!

Hi Brittney, that's great to hear that there will be a 2.0 version taking (some) of the animals from level 7 to 20. I DM for my two daughters, and the animal sidekicks are a clear hit for them. Since they're a party of two, having two sidekicks helps balance out the encounters, and their blink dog and pseudodragon has completely enhanced the storytelling and role-play elements. You all did a fantastic job on the personality traits for the sidekicks! So here's a vote for continuing the blink dog and pseudodragon as part of the next tranche of levels too!

Really amazing supplement with lots of creativity! Also, the fact that you can get your pet snake to just eat people is hilarious to me XD

Not a big deal but there are a few typos at first glance like in the Mastiff's beyond 1st level section it states horse instead of mastiff under extra attack and on the Tiger's beyond 1st level section the hitpoint formula actually goes down for 5th and 6th level instead of up. Besides these typos this serves as an excellent resource that not only helps to improve the animal companions provided but to create new ones based off of the ones you've statted out. Hopefully these typos can be corrected as otherwise this is a fantastic resource there are likely a few more than I've found so you may want to take a skim through.

It was an absolute pleasure to contribute to the sidekick supplement. I enjoyed working on the Badger (go Hufflepuffs), Hollyphant and last minute addition Goose. Each was unique and challenging in their own ways but I hope I was able to put my own spin on them as well as give some unique features that you would associate with each critter.

I saw the Goose entry and immediately thought, "Untitled Goose Game meets Dragon Heist".

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
