Monster Manual Expanded II is the sequel to the Platinum-best selling Monster Manual Expanded.  Just like the first book, this aims to provide Dungeon Masters more options and flexibility in designing adventures and dressing up their dungeons with a wider variety of creatures and characters that are based on the Monster Manual, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, and many others.  Finally, it also adds variants that provide a nostalgic and classic feel that DMs experienced with the older editions are probably familiar with.

In total, there are over 380 creature stat blocks in this book at the Dungeon Master's disposal!

SPECIAL BEST-SELLER MILESTONES UNLOCKS: I will add new 4 new creature statblocks when the book hits Electrum, and then 6 additional stat blocks each time it hits the next best-seller ranking!

This is a great product, in fact, I now have both this and the Monster Manual Expended. I have two...quibbles.
Quibble 1. If there isn't going to be a Print On Demand choice, or even if there is might it be possible to have a Printer Friendly option. Sure the artwork is great, for those of us that appreciate the art via the online/Pdf version, Yay! Having one that doesn't chew through a print cartridge? Double Yay.
Quibble 2. I don't purchase products in the hope someday it might earn enough money so more creatures can be added, I don't look at DMsGuild products as a Kickstarter and I'm funding stretch goals. I have now printed your excellent product. If you add creatures might it be possible to make them also a separate entry? Cause, yeah, I can't imagine you would be making sure they are in the exact alphabetical order...See my dilemma?
Please consider my quibbles moving forward and thank you for your work and product.

Hi Darren,

Apologies for the late reply. I'll try to look at what I can do for a print-friendly version. It is challenging because of the amount of background artwork.
I'm sorry for the kickstarter-like goal rewards. I honestly did not originally intend to do this but after posting the book I thought I could provide extra as a token of gratitude. I hope you can treat it as a 'rich person' problems. ;)

What do you use to make the pages look like that? I would like to achieve something similar with my titles. If I had the money I would probably pick up this title as well.

Hi Marcin, unfortunately PoD availability is beyond my control. I can only suggest that you reach out to DM's Guild and request to have this title be available on PoD. Maybe given enough requests they'll reach out to me and I can have a PoD version ready.

I enjoy your products immensely. I do have a tiny gripe, though. I have seen from other comments that you intend to fix some editing and text errors; will this also extend to the minor math errors that exist in HPs, skills, Saving Throws, Damage totals, etc.?

CREATOR
Yes, of course. As i did in the first MME, i swiftly corrected all types of errors, especially in the stat blocks, as soon as I could.
If anyone reports, I check and double check it, and then make the necessary corrections.
I even made adjustments based on my own games, if needed, such as spells, CR, etc, but those have been minimal.

So I was quite pleased to see an expansion of the Shadar Kai NPCs in here, but disappointed that there wasn't an equal expansion of the Eladrin, who are a welcome addition to the all-too-empty Feywilde -- any plans to add them as part of the expansions? Or perhaps a stat block for an actual Archefey?

The other group missing that would do from a bit of expansion (especially in the direction of the weird / aberrant) is the Star Spawn. The lower level ones are just kind of grunts of one sort or another, rather than emphasizing the psychological twisting and freakiness that their flavor would seem to imply.

In total though, fantastic work. Thank you for doing so much to fill in CR gaps for given enemy-types. It makes it SO much easier for me to re-balance an encounter while retaining the flavor, and to maintain consistent (but challenging) antagonist groups throughout a campaign.

Hi Rebecca, I'm sorry I wasn't able to add any new eladrin.
To be honest, I was stumped how to proceed with them due to their differing stats per season. This was also further compounded by another eladrin, Smiler the Defiler, in Descent into Avernus. He's a Spring Eladrin without Joyful Presence (maybe because he's evil). It was still not enough for me to work on. I promise when I get more info, or find a way to create different eladrin (preferably of the lower CR), I'll add them in.

As for the Archfey, it's not impossible but very challenging due to the limited amount of resources to build them from. It was easier to do with Lolth and the three archdevils due to the amount of sourcebooks I can retrieve data from. But not these. Again, not saying impossible, but if I find a good enough info (even from really old books), maybe I could.

But I will most likely do the eladrin instead since they would be more useful to DMs and are easier to use. I am thinking of the evil...See more

Would it help if I drafted something Homebrew? I've been ruminating on the Eladrin for a while since they play a significant role in the lore of the campaign I'm currently running. I'd be happy to share my work if it gives you something to riff off of.

Found a few more minor errors you might want to correct:

The Duergar Sergeant says "drow" instead of "duergar" twice in the Phalanx Formation section.
The Young Zaratan has a fly speed instead of a swim speed (I assume it's supposed to be a swim speed like the regular Zaratan in Volo's has, although the idea of a huge rocky turtle just hovering in the air is pretty amusing).
The description text for the Githzerai Shadowmind is just a repeat of that of the Githzerai Lightning Fist.

Beyond these few minor editing errors, I'm still having a great time reading through it all. I love the various humanoid kings with legendary actions, and of course I'm happy to see my Quickling suggestions make it in so quickly!

*** Version 1.03 released with Electrum reward unlock! ***

It's not electrum yet but it should reach it before the day ends or early tomorrow. Since I've updated it with some fixes, I might as well just release it with the reward. ;)
Included in this update:
- 5 New Stat Blocks: Quickling Captain, Quickling Warlock of the Gloaming Court, Wendigo, and the Ranger archetype NPCs Monster Slayer and Elite Monster Slayer (that can still make good enemy NPCs)
- Various typo fixes

I really like your work, but you seriously need to get this past an editor. Most of the previews have errors - some more glaring than others - the aspect of Tiamat changes between being an aspect and apparently being Tiamat herself. The master assassin is suddenly an arcane trickster and so on.

Thanks for pointing this out, Thomas. I did have an editor this time around, but we had to rush this one out before the holidays so we still some a lot. Still, no excuses. But I promise to do our due diligence and we will be reviewing this again. The next update should fix the mistakes you mentioned and we will continue to fix anything else we, or anybody else, find. :)

Excellent. (Cult Priest os Asmodeus: "Each creature has disadvantage....." should be "Every" or "All" creature(s)... methinks.

Since you've done Mephitopheles, will you be doing Archfiends (Orcus, Demogorgon, Zariel etc.) already published by WotC, but in let's say... more hardcore CR appropiate versions?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
