The Lost Temple of Tiamat

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Famous heroes of the realm have summoned a group of up-and-coming adventurers to handle a side quest to recover the Orb of Dragon Command from a long forgotten temple to Tiamat, god of chromatic dragons, while they tackle the main quest of their own adventure. Eager to please their icons, the adventurers agree and delve into the ever-shifting ancient temple — which will test their wits, their daring, and their strength in equal measure!

An eight hour adventure for four 6th level characters, The Lost Temple of Tiamat is an adventure where your players create the dungeon layout as they play!

  • Traps, puzzles, combat - your players decide how much of each they wish, and create a new experience every time you play the adventure!
  • Each room is easy to remove and used to fill in your own dungeon
  • Setting-agnostic, easy to insert into your home campaign. Or, see the notes within the adventure for advice on placement in the Forgotten Realms, Ravnica, or Eberron!
  • A classic style dungeon crawl with a twist ending

Hey Ben. That image of Tiamat’s symbol you are using…do you know if it is copyrighted? I’ve seen so many people using it and I’m wanting to use it myself

Do you mean on the cover of the adventure? I will say a couple of things about it. For one thing it is not the current canonical symbol of Tiamat, which is a dragon head with five claw marks. You may recognize this as the campaign logo for the Tyranny of Dragons campaign. It's meant to show instead an amulet that a priest of Tiamat may use.

That said, the art is courtesy of Wizards of the Coast, provided as part of one of their free art packages on the DMs Guild. I can use it as part of the same license that lets me publish here. You would not be able to use this art copyright free for products not licensed by Wizards, such as a product on DriveThruRPG or another site. Obviously if it was for private use as opposed to commercial that is a different matter.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
