Druid Circle - Circle of the Wild

ADD TO WISHLIST >

This Homebrew Druid subclass for D&D 5e is meant to expand on the traditional wild shaping abilities. These are the druids that prefer to live with animals or in their beast forms.

I have attempted to balance this, but it is still in playtest. This subclass does not follow the traditional 2nd level activation, but instead can start at level 1 since these Druids are natural born wild shapers. Please leave feed back so I may improve upon this subclass.

I like it, seems very intresting. Just wondering though, is it a homebrew version of the circle of the moon and therefore it will use the same features from level 6 as that circle (primal strike, elemental wild shape and thousand forms) or are you going to add further features to this circle?

Thanks for the feed back. It is a solid idea, but not the direction I was going with this subclass. Your feedback has given me a couple of ideas to further strengthen this subclass and make it more effective a higher levels where it needs it. Look for an update soon.

I really like the concept behind this class, and the increased CR scaling is really nice. I also really appreciate the increased time limit, from someone who loves roleplay and the fun interactions this brings. That being said, I want to ask, is this a 5e homebrew supplement, and is it meant to be a druid subclass or a change to the main class? In general, druids in 5e don't get their subclass until 2nd level, and while some DMs might allow for some flexibility, in general this is a strict rule. I think if you just built it around that, and so changed less of the base rules, this would be a really interesting and fun subclass that could be used at many tables. Good work overall.

Thanks for the feedback. I updated the information to be more clear on those points. This is a subclass for D&D 5e. This subclass moves spell casting to level 2 and wild shaping to level 1, intentionally altering the main Druid class. I know this breaks what is usually a strict rule on the Druid subclass starting at level 2. This rule needs to be broken to create a natural born wild shaper.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
