Purchased by my FLGS for me to run. Players had a good time, although the time estimates for the sections are wildly inaccurate. They enjoyed the story of Viltharn, and was a nice way to tie up this trilogy.

Can we get unkeyed, player versions of the maps?

Is the disease the drow had in this adventure the same as fungal infection (darkborne rot) that Arrizz from Season 3 had?

Fun module. A couple suggestions/questions:

- It would be nice to include spellbooks for Respen and maybe Viltharn, especially since the module includes the possibility that characters might rob Respen instead of negotiating. In general, one unintended effect of running the Season 9 modules back to back is that there are no spellbooks in any of them so far.

- The module includes a soul coin in the treasure list, but there's no soul coin available in the adventure.

- It would be nice to have a little treasure in the optional adventures - as it is, the reward for solving the puzzle is basically more combat in an already combat-heavy adventure.

The module had some fun concepts, especially the Water Elemental, even though it was barely utilized.

The map was unfortunately very confusing for everyone I played with, the giant ravine covering the entire map was unnecessary and confused us the most.

A puzzle about pictures on tiles without any pictures was disappointing and lazy. Even 1st edition quality black and white drawings would be better than paragraphs.

Hello! Thank you to the authors of this module! I am excited to run it this Sunday on Roll20. I do have a question: where do the players acquire the soul coin listed in the magic item section? As Eli G mentioned, the soul coin is listed in the magic item section but not in the module.

Hello. I wanted to ask a question concerning the siphon shackles. I understand that they are magical, but do they not have any property statistics for those players who most likely will try to break them? Are they impervious to damage? Can they be dispelled? The designer describes drow chain gangs … if chains are involved, are the chains a part of the shackles? Thanks!

at first I assumed that the demonologist actually could be returned/redeemed. Then I re-read and wasn't sure. What is the intention?

Question for the author - can you please explain the history of Plagueshield Point that's supposed to be described in the mural tiles in Bonus Objective A and what each tile represents?

It's not well explained in the adventure and that makes it difficult for a DM to run the bonus objective properly. Hopefully you can provide a much clearer explanation of the mural tiles' story in a comment response.

Clarification from the author (per AL Community Admin Amy Lynn Dzura):

"Plagueshield Point was named such because it was where a band of plague-stricken drow gathered, after being exiled from Menzoberrazan for their illness. A wizard (Respen Shadowswimmer) discovers a cure. As the plague spreads throughout Menzoberranzan further, a sickly envoy comes to the wizard for help, and the wizard agrees. Later, the drow he cured come from the city and settle in Plagueshield Point and make it a marvelous fortress. Later still, the wizard's apprentice (Viltharn) betrays the drow and becomes a chain devil—this final drawing is crude because Respen made it in haste as he hid from the devils in Avernus."

Recommendation: Provide more background for the DM on the history of Plagueshield Point.

Bonus Objective A is very hard to properly run, as not even the DM is provided with the necessary related history and back-story implied in the stone tiles (much less the players). (The DM background material doesn't go into any of that missing info).

More info and context needs to be provided to the DM, to ensure players don't simply get frustrated with a puzzle lacking sufficient clues.

A couple of errors in need of correction (v1.1 - print friendly):

1) Headers on the bonus objectives in the appendices are flipped (Bonus Objective A is labeled as "B" and vice-versa).

2) In Area P4b (Courtyard of Suffering), the Commander's Quarters is mis-referenced as Area P10. (It should be referenced inline as Area P9).

3) Monster stat blocks is missing a Shadow Demon stat block. (Drow Mage could theoretically summon one of these, but no stats are provided).

4) The Water Elemental stat block is missing the WotC Monster Manual errata correction. The "Whelm" action's text should conclude with "make a DC 14 Strength check and succeeding." The key word "check" is missing following the word "Strength", and the action reads as the pre-errata text (e.g. "make a DC 14 Strength and succeeding."). Action text needs updating.

5) There's a "soul coin" listed under Magic Item(s) under...See more

Hello! Happy Holidays! Quick question. In the section where you arrive at the castle, If the character pass the check by more than 5, they spy an entrance, P3C I believe, but on the map there is no P3C marked. Help?

I believe, from the description and the numbering scheme, that the reference to P3c should be on the Appendix 4 map towards the middle of the eastern side (2 squares right and 1 square down from the "P6" label. The ravine (labled areas P3A and P3B) cuths through the entire stalagmite and provides a crack of and entrance here. Note this is well below the level of P4a, P4b, and P6, and would need a climb out in some direction.

Hey there, Apostol. I hope you're enjoying this adventure! The D&D Adventurers League admins reported that "Due to events beyond our control (#BlamePipyap), only print-friendly copies of DDAL09-06 and -07 are currently available, with final layout versions to follow this week." Hopefully, the full-color versions will arrive in short order. =)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
