Wonderful book , especially as I don't part take and and as a GM it makes this aspect difficult. Another wonderful feature was a complete Hag preview. This was perfect as I am looking to buy a number of Fey books, particular Hags and was trying to decide between a few options. Thanks again for the wonderful work

I wonder if there is a possibility if I could translate it into Polish and publish it here. What do you think about it?

Question. What are the Saving throws in the Drug properties section for. Is the Drug addiction table for addiction and drug properties for if they incur effects? Just a bit lost

Hello Qyshawn. Each drug has a specific ability score saving throw to resist an initial and a secondary effect of drugs (note that a user can choose to fail). Let us take devilweed as an example. The character uses a dose and must make a DC 12 Charisma saving throw twice. If the initial save is failed then the character looses 1 Wisdom. If the secondary save is failed then the character does not get the increased Strength modifier. Devilweed also has an addiction risk of "low" and an intoxication level of "I." This product was one of the first products that I designed and it is a bit clunky. I was debating release a more streamlined and easier to use version but that will not likely happen with the new rules for dmsguild. If you have more questions I'll answer then here for you. I can also be reached via social media via my linktree = https://linktr.ee/lawsofchaos.
I have been playing DnD for a very long time and I tend to get a little crunchy with my mechanics so I apologize, but...See more

I love your work! The clarification was all I needed because I didn't see a direct example of how to handle effects, but I figured in was multiple rolls and wanted to be sure. Making three rolls is a bit different though. Roll for addiction and then 2 rolls for effects does feel chunky but it's not then end of the world or anything and very solid rules overall. The last clarification is that I know intoxication stacks with drugs and alcohol, but do the penalties listed in chapter one apply to drugs too or just alcohol. For example, if someone takes Devilweed and receives intoxication I and fails both cha saves does that mean a PC has -1 to WIS, no STR bonus and Cha skills are harder to use?

Intoxication from drugs and alcohol stacks. So if you get to level 2 intoxication while drinking halfling champagne and then you decide to go to the alley and hit the hard stuff whatever you add intoxication wise will stack.
DevilWeed - yes you hit the nail on the head with me making it a bit overly-chunky. stuff starts stacking and fighting each other rather quickly. Intoxication level 2 includes all of the penalties from the previous intoxication level (so Charisma, Intelligence, and Wisdom skills are performed without any bonuses from the characters proficiency). ONTOP of all of that they get the drug initial and secondary effects (some of which can be momentarily positive).

Copper now. I am keeping track of errata. (Need to fix the consumer size and need to tweak addiction wording so it is less confusing)

I bought it and i like it, but the portion sizes bother me.

the smallest portion for .. everything is half a jug. which is 64 ounces, which is insanely much!

just think drinking a half jug of vodka? and then its just a save dc of 13 to gain 1 tox level?

or what am i understanding wrongly here.. why is the smalles portion so much ?

It would be nice if the tables would show prices and portions in the size of .. a wine glass or a shot, or per Mug (it shows the mug once, but it never shows up in the tables)

Also, if taking a drug, is the user instantly addicted or is there an initial addiction role? i dont find anything about that

Hey Marcel. Those are the wholesale prices and sizes for those who want to run a bar/inn/tavern (pondering crafting mechanics if we get to 100DL). Let me make sure something did not get lost in translation. I'll post again in 5 min

Yup I see what I did. The sentence should read ...

General information. Most adventurers consume their
alcohol by the mug (16 ounces).

I should have also explained this is a 1/4 of a 1/2 jug. My mistake. I will fix it, and great eye!

ok for addiction ...Addiction. Drug addiction is rated according to their
addictive potential, or risk. A person must make an
addiction (Constitution) saving throw when using a drug to
avoid becoming addicted.

an addiction example: Bobert with a Con saving throw of +5 takes, Black Eye (page 15). DM notes that the addiction chance is Medium. Medium addiction chance means that the DC to avoid addiction (Drug Addiction Table on page 14) is DC 11. That same table shows how much and when to keep taking it or suffer withdraw (ability reductions).

thanks a bunch, still looking SO forward to using all this in my campaign, really like it!

smaller portions/doses for users in a tavern would be amazing, calculating myself, on the run, while playing is kinda tough, especially because an ounce is complete alien to me as a European :D
So yeah seeing how much a shot would cost a player for liquors would be really neat. (also I would say the DC for a liquor is based on a shot right?)

Thanks for your work! appreciate it!

yeah i've learned to not dictate everything in a DnD book or it gets HUGE hahaha. But yes a shot of liquor would be a "dose."

I am working on an update to this. The wholesale math for the alcohol is wrong. Can't explain how I jacked it up but I did. Fixing that. Will include intoxicants found in nature for those who asked. Crafting might come January.

This won't be updated again until after January 2020 or if it goes copper before then I'll push something out. I will also stop communicating here because I can see no way to delete past comments :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
