Did the Ulcaster’s Ruins Adventure Book ever get published? I can't find it.

Thanks for asking Don! The work in progress was folded into a bigger project that will be out hopefully this year.

Merry Christmas Don!

This adventure can be played with almost any combination of levels in your party.

It's perfect for a session zero game with all brand new level ones.

It's also perfect for a group of level 5s and every thing in between. Actually, up to about level 12 or so.

About six level 12 characters is about where the combat scaling ends. Harder than about 72 total part levels, the combat scaling stops. But an ingenious DM could come up with bigger nastier end bosses I'm sure!

Have fun.

Happy New Year Frank,

Unfortunately I didn't see this post until today because you posted a new comment rather than replying to me directly. Just a friendly tip for next time!

All is well. Even before you replied, I had purchased your module (along with a handful of other "mystery" themed adventures) and reviewed them. I then choose your adventure over the others. We played our first session just a couple days ago. I was hoping we could make it a one-shot, but we found it will take two sessions to complete.

Your adventure quickly stood out over the others I purchased because it was clearly better written, laid out, and it helped me (as the DM) to acclimate to the everything I needed quickly. Other adventures struggled to engage me or give me enough information to start planning without having to read the entire module multiple times. Your adventure could serve as a "how to write an module" template.

That said, there were a few areas that I...See more

This adventure looks interesting. I'm a little confused by the target party level this adventure is designed for. I read "playable with any number of players up to seventy-two total party levels", but I'm not sure I understand it. I take it to mean this adventure can be adapted to multiple levels but I'm not sure what the minimum party level is.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
