The Most Dangerous Game is a unique take on exploration and survival. Players will experience a burst of adrenaline as they find their characters trapped on a remote island, pursued by a bloodthirsty huntmaster. Locations are detailed beautifully, bringing treacherous marshes and bogs to life. There are plenty of scuffles to avoid — or leap into — along with both allies and enemies for those who seek out combat or roleplay.

Not sure if anyone will see this, but here goes nothing.

The chateau is set up with lots of nooks and crannies but I can't find a time when the players would be able to actually look around or reap the benefits. Am I missing something? Also, there is no character sheet for Zarrov - What if the characters attack him directly?

Hi! I don’t have the file ready at hand but; the chateau is detailed in event that characters swing back through jungle to assail the fortress or sneak back while villain is on the hunt.
The character sheet is, if memory serves, the archetype for Cult Leader or such. Would be in parenthesis after villain’s first mention and is detailed in the Bestiary (at back of adventure). Hope that helps! Just off to Dal Quor presently.

Awesome! Thank you. I missed the bit about the Cult Leader so I really appreciate it! I thought that might be the case with the chateau so I am happy to have the clarification. I kept looking at it thinking I was missing something! It is detailed and I clearly glossed over a few things. Thanks again!

Teacher creates Dungeons & Dragons adventures from classic literature

The Most Dangerous Game leaps from high school anthologies to D&D table

A new Dungeons & Dragons-compatible adventure based on a classic, oft-adapted American short story is melding 20th century literature with a popular D&D setting and some of the game’s most recent beginner-friendly trends.

Richard Connell’s short story The Most Dangerous Game has been a staple of middle school and high school English lit readers for years. It had sort of subsided to the back of my mind and intermingled with H.G. Wells’ Island of Dr. Moreau, but when S.J Twining sent me a copy of his Dungeon Master’s Guild-published adventure based on the story of the same name, it all came rushing back to me: the shipwreck,...See more

The Most Dangerous Game is converted for the world’s most popular roleplaying game
October 7, 2019 by Andrew Girdwood

The Most Dangerous Game is a short story published in 1924 by Richard Connell, it was turned into a film in 1932 and has been adapted numerous times since.

It’s been called the most popular short story ever written in English. As a result, it’s been a popular study in school due to its size, its success, but also the ethical questions it raises.

In the original, a big-game hunter gets washed ashore on an island only to discover he’s not alone. A rival big-game hunter is living there who now takes his pleasure in hunting any survivors from the various shipwrecks that occur in the treacherous seas.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
