I want to loot the beholder!

Now available for Fantasy Grounds Unity!

When brave adventurers face the dangers of the world, they want something to show for it. This supplement provides individual loot for each monster in the Monster Manual, as well as a basic crafting and harvesting system that works well with 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons, now for Fantasy Grounds

With this supplement, these brave adventurers will be able to craft the hide, teeth, and claws of their enemies into dangerous weapons and equipment that is sure to mark them as legendary heroes of the realm.

Examples of Loot

Basilisk

  • 1d2 Basilisk Eyes. When consumed, you must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or become petrified as you are turned to stone. You remain petrified until freed by the greater restoration spell or similar magic. It can also be used as an additional material component when casting the spell flesh to stone. When used in this way, the target of the spell has disadvantage on their saving throw against the spell’s effects.
  • 1 Vial of Basilisk Blood. If poured on a Medium or smaller creature that has been petrified by being turned to stone, they are cured of the petrified condition.

Green Hag

  • 1d2 Green Hag Hands. Requires attunement. Can be used as an arcane focus. You know the dancing lights and minor illusion cantrips, but only when you are holding onto the hand. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these cantrips.
  • 1 Green Hag Tongue. When consumed, you can mimic animal sounds and humanoid voices for one hour. A creature that hears the sounds can tell they are imitations with a successful DC 14 Wisdom (Insight) check.
  • 1d4 Vials of Green Hag Blood. Can be used as an additional material component when casting spells that turn something invisible. When used in this way, the duration of the invisibility increases by one minute.

For others who get confused:
The author of this product has changed from Anna Gregersen to Grim Press. This changed the author code, and the MOD file is a lot larger too. Since the name in Fantasy Grounds has changed as well you'll have to delete the old one. Otherwise you'll end up with with two similar modules in FG. I don't know anything about why and what has changed.

CREATOR
Hey Joost,

Anne is still the creator of the Monster Loot series, we just created the FG module with her permission. Looking at the credit story entry shows everyone who was involved.

Regarding the update, as these modules were created before FG Unity, we've gone back through them and are updating them to be fully compatible with Unity. Part of this revision is bringing them up to date with our current standard.

As a special bonus, we've added rollable loot tables (as seen in the newer FG releases in the series). We will be updating all the older ML FG modules to bring them up to the same standard. This was discussed in-depth on our Discord server, but the DMsGuild does not have a very robust 'version update notes' section.

If you'd like, please feel free to join our discord server and chat with us. Alternatively, we can answer any of your other questions in the comments here.

There is a typo in 01.03 Harvesting Checks
"Naure" should be "Nature".
Also the "'" character does not render correctly in FGU (e.g. all the 's)

Thank you.

Thank you. I am working my way through a rework of the module. Fixing small errors, fixing small text issues for Unity and transitioning from parcels to fully rollable tables. I'll add these to my list of changes to make if I don't have them already marked down.

Are these modules compatible with Fantasy Ground Unity? I don't see anywhere if they are or if there is another version that I need to buy for FGU. Thanks

Hey, the Tables for Actually rolling the loot we get aren't included in the Module, you need the PDF separately to even know how much of something you can roll for. This should be looked into. Like I'm glad all the items are there. But there are no Tables or even Information shown to see what to roll. Only the Harvesting Rules to even see if it's possible to harvest the creature at all.

Hello Caleb. Thank you for the feedback. The loot parcels include the maximum number of items possible to gather. Tables were not added but I will look into going back through and adding them after i finish the entire collection on a second pass to update & enhance the modules.

Hi, when awarding a parcel to the players, and I edit the amount they harvested, will that also change the default parcel with maximum amount they can harvest?

Hello Maarten, If you edit the default parcel directly from the module then that edit will persist FOR THAT CAMPAIGN. If you open the monster loot module in a different campaign the default will be back to default.

I personally prepare my loot parcels ahead of time by dragging a loot parcel for the creature they will be harvesting into the "new" group of parcels and then edit there so the default from the module is left intact.

I hope this helps.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
