Hi,
I'd like to propose for free the first mission : The Avernus job as an obsidian vault to my patrons and the DnD community to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Pogs Props (https://www.patreon.com/PogS_Props).
In exchange for your permission to release it, I can offer you the maps I made for it. You could add them to your pdf and FG module.

Normally to travel through the layers of Hell you have to take the River Styx from Avernus. Do these adventures include a method of travel to each layer?
Or does the party enter via Avernus, and then remain in Hell to complete the whole 9 adventures?
Thank you :)

Each adventure is designed to be standalone, although there is a brief outline on the River Styx in the introduction and Chapter 1 includes a few different ways to get to hell to kick everything off. There is nothing directly connecting the adventures, but they certainly can be played all without leaving the nine hells.

Is there anything covered for Stygia and Levistus? There is so little material of that area covered to play around with.

The Sytgian adventure is about capturing an angelic invader within the plane, travelling to an icy prison, and dealing with the consequences of their actions.

The adventure itself doesn't involve Levistus (it's one of his generals pulling the strings, mostly). BUT there is a hellish Masquerade in Malbolge which largely DOES involve the imprisoned devil, as well as Glasya. It's a *very* complicated adventure but one where you can really let the influence of the iced-devil shine.

There are not. We've included stat blocks for any creatures referenced in the 9 adventures.

The statblocks here are:
Abishai (all five colors, although the blue is a 'Blue Abishai Researcher' which is different from a standard one)
Amnizu
Baree Keni (A drow cultist)
Batheron (a horned devil with their own unique actions)
Berbalang
Bifericus (an intelligent dire troll)
Blood Fiend
Bloodhounds (A monstrosity that can hunt down creatures across the planes)
Cadaver Collector
A *hellfire train* (it's freaking cool)
Canoloth
Death (a unique Tanarukk)
Death Blossom
A prototype Hellfire Engine
Fire Elemental Centurion (a more advanced Myrmidon)
Fire Giant Dreadnought
Fire Wasp (different from the one in DiA, we wrote this book to release the same day so we didn't know they'd have fire wasps at ALL)
Firenewt Warrior
Frost Giant Everlasting One
Gelfondi (a unique bone devil)
Hellfire...See more

There is a description of a tained dryad in the first adventure, but can't seem to find a statblock for it. It's not in the appendix B and text mentiones about her being in the lair which would suggest that there is a lair action tied to it (which regular dryads don't have). I can't seem to find any proper description of this monster anywhere in the adventure.

I am using the Fantasy Grounds version, and there is a stat block for Arachnochromia. It doesn't have any lair actions, though. I think stating that the Silver Grove is her lair translates that she has lair actions. I also had to significantly beef her up. She has 22 hit points and an armor class of 11. The players are level 8! If they attack first, she has no chance. Perhaps that was the intention.

I am reading though come hell or high water right now and it says that there is a handout of the lab in appendix C. but I don’t see it and there is not a map of it in the book itself. I am wondering if it’s somewhere else and I can’t find it.

Hey there. It was mislabeled as being in Appendix C. It's the map at the end of the chapter. The author realized that the players really don't need a handout but if you'd like one anyway, since you requested it, I've uploaded a labeled and unlabeled version here: https://imgur.com/a/4crihlv

Would this spoil anything in Descent into Avernus? I'm asking because I'd like to run this as part two of an existing campaign (they're already a group of thieves), but the group is planning on playing through Descent into Avernus at some point in the future.

It does not. Only the first adventure is set in Avernus (which can be run standalone or as part of Descent) and the other adventures are set in the other layers of the nine hells. We would never want to spoil anyone on an adventure they might have purchased!

I am terribly disappointed at the quality of maps for this module. I plan to run these games, but I'm in the process of generating maps that are usable for the campaigns. Also, is it me, or are there bits missing here and there? For example, in the first campaign, The Avernus Job, the Chrome Spear has three large doors in the entryway, but the module only has information two of them. Where does the other door lead?

Hey there. So each adventure was done by a different author, who had to get their own maps which is why the quality varies.

I am the author for the first adventure, and the chrome spear only has two doors. The image in the module has a wall decoration which, in hindsight, does resemble a door. There is only left and right, going to the catacombs below or the halls above.

We do appreciate the feedback, and if there is anything missing, I'd be more than happy to either clarify the situation or rectify it with fixes as needed!

I understand. Maps can be complicated. I'm putting together the encounters on some really good maps. The adventures are great. As for the Chrome Spear, the module reads:

"The entryway is largely empty. Three large doors stand directly before you. The central door is set in the image of a hideous face carved with its mouth reaching the floor. Two large pipes descend from the ceiling and enter the wall on either side of the this door. The other two doors are fortified wooden doors, the sort one might find on an expensive castle instead of an orcish den."

Am I reading this wrong or is this an error?

I'd have to go through my notes (it was published a few years ago mind you) but that does read to me as an error. I know I originally had the door behind you, but then swapped it out for the spear being sealed. Having run the adventure twice (once for my home group, and once at a local store), you'd think this error would've been picked up. I do apologize for that. The intent was always to have the spear going up or down with the entry way being just on it's own.

How long do these adventures run on average? Are they able to be run as one shots or would that take some cutting?

The goal was for each adventure to be 4-6 hours each, with a lot of wiggle room for the DM to control the pace. If I guessed at what the shortest adventure is, it would be the first one (Avernus) or the sixth one (Malbolge). The first adventure is available in the preview entirely.

does this include a trip to Stygia, the Fifth layer of hell have a PC who has chosen a patronage from levistus? thanks

It absolutely does! There's one adventure in each of the nine layers of hell. For stygia, that adventure is "Mission: Broken Heaven" (Level 14-16)

Stygia has a cool infiltration thing going on. Steal an airship, fly to a secured location and extract an important item.

With levistus as the patron, the provided hooks might not work so make sure to read the adventure before hand and adjust it slightly.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
