ADD TO WISHLIST >

"The adventure is laid out expertly, with simple yet clear maps, and good artwork...Overall, this is one of the best adventures I’ve seen on the DMs Guild. Highly recommended!"

-Merric B., author of the D&D review and play advice site 'Merric's Musings'

The hooting of kobold spectators becomes a howl of laughter when your party’s wizard tumbles over your head, launched by a hidden spring trap.

Don’t look back!  You’ve got to fight, dodge and puzzle your way out of this gods-forsaken arena.  Aargh, another giant metal lock on a door!  Now where did that rust monster get to…?!

At an annual festival of kobold tribes, your PCs are part of the main attraction!  They’ll face a cavern-sized gauntlet, complete with traps, puzzles, deadly beasts and vicious, kobold gladiators!

A raucous crowd will hoot and holler as your party goes down in defeat, up in flames, or out in style!

Featuring 3 new monsters, 3 new clever kobold contraptions and a million new ways to die

May Kurtulmak bless your fingertips!  Trap-trap has begun!!

I'm excited to run this this weekend for some friends! How do you recommend handling initiative? Keep the players in initiative/turn order the whole time, roll each time an actual fight breaks out, or something else?

Great timing, I just finished writing my review after running it this evening. I popped in and out of initiative depending on whether or not there was actual fighting (the bungee kobolds only attacked when there was other stuff going on). Otherwise I just generally kept track of who was doing what to make sure everyone was acting.
If they took too long, the crowd would start yelling that they were being boring, and I'd take points off of the "crowd score" that I tracked based on performance checks (either from deliberately playing to the crowd or on making showy kills).

I hope to be running this soon. Is there any chance you could post a printer-friendly version without the colored background on most of the pages?

Ran this last night (slightly upscaled) for a group of six lvl 5-6 players as a break from our usual arc. So many laughs and Yips!!! its one of the best written, easy to follow one shots I've found. I didn't sit down all night!!!

Would like some type of preview... full size link isn't working and the linked review doesn't really say anything other than "It's good". The description nor these reviews are any help....

Just purchased based on Merric Blackman's review (https://merricb.com/2020/02/20/5e-adventure-review-trap-trap/). Very excited to dive into this, as it's a perfect fit for where my campaign is at!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
