What will your adventurers find in these mysterious crypts? There are five tiles here that build a complete small dungeon when put together. In fact, I ran it with my party to test it out and we had a blast!
Here are the rooms:
Crypt Entrance Hall
The entrance to the tomb that begins to set the mood. As one of my party members rushed in to the tomb and past the statue, a shimmering arcane wall appeared between the pillars. To release her, the other party members had to solve a riddle written on the statue having to do with the incense sticks and bowl in the corner table.
Embalming Room
This room features several large slabs for embalming, with draining canals that lead to a deep blood well. A large stone door with two keyholes lies on the other end of the room, with two wooden doors leading into crypts on either side.
The adventurers continued loudly into this room and begin to hear eerie noises from deep within the blood well. Bringing light into the situation, they saw dozens of crawling claws climbing their way up towards the party!
Crypts
Two crypt halls lie on either side of the embalming room. Through the door on the other side, you will find the key rooms which contain the keys needed to go through the stone door.
In one crypt my party found the standard array of skeletons and zombies, but on the other they suffered through a hallucinogenic fog with caused them to see their greatest fears!
Key Room
A simple room with a chest, or is it? One of these lies on either side of the crypt halls.
One of the key rooms that my adventurers entered had simply a locked chest, but the other sprung a magical trap that began flooding the room!
Royal Crypt
With both keys in hand, the adventurers can finally enter through the stone door into the Royal Crypt! This is the perfect location for an undead dungeon boss. My party found an ancient king re-awoken with the goal of retaking his lost kingdom!
