Love the module but i wanted to ask your thoughts on giving the players basic weapons or access to some sort of unarmed attack.
Also wanted to bring attention to a possible misprint: the grey kobolds are listed as having 10(1d6+3) health which seems odd given that the average for 1d6+3 is roughly 7 and the fact that they are described as being "sturdier and stronger than their more colourful counterparts," despite having 3 less health than most of their counterparts. Was this intentional?

Are there any kind of maps to be used for this? What does a Ravenloft one shot mean?

Do kobolds make Death saves? I'd assume not. About to run a game, and realized it wasn't addressed. Leaning towards no, since the scenarios are short, and kobolds are intended to have short lifespans?

Are these science-fiction (Barrier Peaks) style kobolds...rather than fantasy (Spelljammer) style kobolds?

What sort of description is there of "outer space" in this product?

How easy would it be to convert this into (5?) scenarios based on a Kobold Queen needing to collect stuff for some sort of weird spelljammer helm?

David,

I've set up the preview so that you should be able to get a good idea what's involved. Killer Kobolds is silly fun, and I didn't labour long over the difference between science fiction and fantasy when deciding if they needed a spanner that sticks to things or a glowing, dubiously green box - this is mainly for accessibility's sake. You won't find anything in here that isn't sheer mad, senseless comic violence with gadgets and kobolds, basically, but I'd say it fits your brief pretty head on. I hope that helps.

Do I have permission to have this professionally printed (just by, like, kinko's or something)? Or, is there a way to buy a printed version? =)

Chelsea,
It's perfectly legal for you to have it printed off in a manner of your choosing, and I 100% support (nay, encourage) you in this. Alas, when publishing on the Guild, you have to get cleared for Print-On-Demand pretty far in advance, and they've closed submissions currently until the end of 2019. Perhaps in the future!
All hail the kobold kween, etc.

From previous conversations I've had with DriveThru RPG, about getting Invasion from the Planet of Tarrasques onto PoD, I think that a 22 page product might be deemed too small to get the Print on Demand treatment.

(I've not worked out what their minimum threshold is yet.)

A spot of confusion regarding this set of scenarios - loving it otherwise, by the by!

The last page of Kontraptions does not contain any of the markings (Kaboom, Boing, etc.), so would not have the chance to have a Kobold roll to keep it based on the third rule as I understand it, and each Kontraption is supposed to break/run out of power after a single use in a scenario. However, the first scenario seems to imply that 10 humanoids need to meet their end using a combination of the liquidator and the hoover, and it's laid out that only one instance of any Kontraption can be taken by the group...is this intentional? This same sort of thing seems to happen with the third scenario as well, only with the Faraway Cage instead.

And a super minor note - on Step Three of the rules, it's spelled out as Contraption (the bit just before the comment on the markings such as Kaboom, Boing, etc.) and mentions that each contraption is marked when the last page isn't.

This is a very good catch, and you're not the only one who spotted it. It's slated for a fix on v1.3 which should be live by the end of today. In essence, I botched the last page of kontraptionz slightly/majorly/100% and I blame gremlins. The liquidator, hoover and faraway cage will be updated to allow any number of kobolds to take them, along with a some other changes for clarity :) Watch this space!

I love the adventure, but I must admit i am still very confused as to how exactly some of these scenarios are supposed to be completed.

Lets say your have a group of four. Half choose kobolds with oops, half with kaboom. All four take both a nutri-matic liquidator and a hewards handy hoover. One takes a charging cable as well. two of the liquidators and hoovers are one use only, the other two of each have a 50% chance of being used again. So lets say one of each can be used a second time, and can't be used after that. that is six uses of each. You then use the cable to charge them back up, giving you eight uses. The kobold in question only gets to roll on either kaboom or oops kontraptionz, so you are stuck at eight uses of each or eight gallons of retrieved bio-fuel. Even if you are allowed to give one of your kontraptionz to another kobold after using the charging cable, you are looking at the players having to roll a 3-6 four times in a row.

Is this simply intended to be a...See more

The life of a killer kobold is, alas, a short and miserable one. The Kobold Kween spends a lot of time making unreasonable demands and blowing up her minions. The default scenario is brutal, in a gory kind of way, but then that's the B-Movie vibe for you. I may add a warning to the effect of "Please do not become too attached to your kobolds. They are prone to exploding all over the place even if they do nothing wrong."

I'm also assuming the DM should take liberties to create makeshift weapons for the kobolds, like table legs and frying pans, so they aren't forced to use the kontraptions all the time. The only one I see hard to complete is the capture on, with a small group, or bad luck. Statistically, you should get 2 uses per item, but I wouldn't bet on that.

I am 100% in favour of kobold mania with kitchen implements. Also, don't be afraid to have the Kobolds fail and explode from time to time. It's the journey, not the destination and all that.

Is the fourth scenario really supposed to be another "capture" mission, or was it meant to be some number of kills?

Thanks for the heads up :) I've corrected it. Dang kobolds in my machine, that's what I blame.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
