Lost Minis of Phandelver: 49 Paper Minis to go with The D&D Starter Set Adventure

I have updated the minis to be a bit easier to assemble, added backgrounds to a color version (for brighter, "game-piece" feeling minis), and added new skins for each of the premade heroes. Also, this now includes a token pack for online play.

These minis feature artwork for the fronts and backs of every monster and NPC, as well as for the premade heroes that come packaged with Lost Mines of Phandelver.

Every mini you need is in the PDF; printing once will produce every creature (and as many copies as it calls for.)

For best results, print on a high gloss cardstock. These are designed to add visual pop to the table and to be easy to quickly identify. Here is what they look like cut out:

Bandit and Skeletons

Owlbear and Wolf - best friends forever ~ best friiieeends

Here are a few more samples of the monsters you'll find within:

Goblin - Front and Back

Wolf - Front and Back

Owlbear - Front and Back

Ochre Jelly - Front & Back

Spectator - Front and Back

Flaming Skull - Front and Back

Young Green Dragon - Front and Back

Love this set.
Are you thinking about the Essentials Kit story as well, I'm running both at the same time and it would be awesome to have the minis to match.

Hello, I just bought your design.
I wanted to put them in a nice acrylic so it looks more like a figures.

But the PDF is protected by password. I wouldn't let me edit them.

Is it possible to know the password?

Hi - I have no idea why or how the files could be password protected. Send me an email at and I'll try sending you my local version.

I love the quirky art style - matches my sense of humour LOL! The b&w set is a great idea, BTW...will give me an opportunity to customize the figs enough that we can tell them apart during encounters. (and because I'm almost out of coloured toner...

Hello I just used this set for the Goblin ambush and cave hideout. I was wondering if you made a set for other modules including the other starter adventure Dragon of Icespire Peak? I would also be interested in have a few custom ones for my PC's party

We are working on a second pack, but the virus has hurt our workflow a lot. We do have a set of minis out for Death House, however.

We're not currently doing custom heroes, but keep your eyes peeled for a hero pack. :)

Love the set! I have a printer/cutter machine and I'd like to be able to import into Corel to create a die-cut layer. Is there any way you could PM or email me the PDF password so I can edit?

I have... no idea why the PDF has a password.

I am beta-testing an update to this document. I'll send you a drive link to that - I'd love some thoughts on it.

Love this set. Very thorough, & great artwork. And I've been using the artwork to help describe the NPCs to my players. "Reidoth the druid has a long grey beard, a distinctive wide brimmed cap, and a green cloak with a ragged fur collar. He also carries with him a gnarled staff..." So good.

I WANT MORE: I'd love to see a supplement set for this adventure: bodies, treasure, furniture, oxen and cart, etc. And how about my next adventure? I need more of these minis please. Best artwork out there, by far!

Thanks! We're looking into the best way to expand from here. For now, we've got a Death House set available:

I bought these for my ten-year-old son's first Dingeons and Dragons game. I've been prepping them feverishly. You'll kill a whole gluestick right before you finish, so best to buy two. The artwork is FANTASTIC. I love EVERY piece. They aren't kidding when they say "every mini needed." That includes a handful of male and female images meant to represent various hero characters. It's not your job to print several copies of the same page to get the number that you need. You need 10 stirges? You get them all on the first printing. My friends love their body-positive dragon with "junk in the trunk."

These aren't sterotypical, common images. They have a style all their own. I intend to buy every set they host, whether I'm running the adventure their themed to or not, and I hope that they decide to release many sets. I'm a fan for life.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
