Hey, couple questions. First, will there be an Artificer subclass for Ravnica in the future? I know the Izzet League is pretty obvious, but that's for you to decide. And secondly, is there a way for the Simic Retriever's features to work with the new Ranger variant rules, like Favored Foe?

The first feature of the Ranger seems very overtuned for any game that has downtime. Considering a week's worth of downtime, a Simic Retriever can gain 7 new favored enemies if they just spend that single week at a lab. Is it intended that this can only be done once? If so, it is neither communicated correctly nor very interesting or useful. Considering the relative balance and interesting mechanics of most every other subclass here, it seems out of place.

My only other complaint is how non-friendly the names and references of these subclasses are to any other setting. I get that they're intended to be tailored specifically to Ravnica, but given the broad names of things like the Destruction Domain or College of Debauchery or the Way of Decay, I feel as though this convention could have extended to every subclass without sacrificing any flavor or thematic elements. Sure, you can reskin and rename them, but something feels off about that.

Overall, minus a few balance issues and some odd...See more

Hey there!

You're correct that Well-informed Hunter should be "capped" at 1 additional favored enemy. The intent here is to give the Retriever a "floating" favored enemy that, in the narrative framework we had for this character, represents their study of whatever target they are headed after at the time. We can clarify that in a future update—thank you!

Obviously opinions will differ on things like this, but I would point out that the Simic Retriever is entirely based around favored enemies; every other class feature it has plays off of the ranger's favored enemy choice. The goal of this 3rd-level feature was to allow more flexibility when using the rest of the subclass, as well as the standard bonuses for favored enemies given in the PHB.

I'm happy you found the collection useful overall, and thanks for your support!

Full Disclosure: I did the signet art on the page backgrounds. I have a publisher's account so I can't leave reviews, and I had no idea what this book was about, so--

Wow! This book is cool. Class archetypes for specific guilds is exactly what Ravnica needs more of and this book does a great job at capturing the flavor of the different guilds.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
