Hey there Florian,

Excited to run this. I know from reading the comments below that you have no intention of releasing this on any VTT, which is fine as I actually enjoy building everything in Fantasy Grounds myself.

It's AWESOME that you include the art/maps separately. That allows me to easily integrate it into FG to show players.

If I could make one request that would make all VTT users super happy, and that is to include gridless maps? On VTT we have to overlay actual grids ourselves to make the maps usable and to have the tokens scale properly. However, when trying to overlay my grid over existing grids.... well... that can get, troublesome. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't and it cause a real eyesore for everyone. Imagine looking at a map with two grids, and one isn't perfectly aligned with the other, it starts to look like a hipster plaid shirt really quick.

Just a thought for future stories! Gridless maps would be marvelous!

thank you for reaching out! While I sometimes don't have the ability to update commissioned work, like maps, after the release; I could actually provide a gridless version of every version of the maps included. Please redownload the map container for this and enjoy your hassle free work!

Hey James,

happy to see you here, too & also thanks again for your purchase. It really means a lot to us :)! Unfortunately the answer is the same here, as it was with Shore of Dreams; while no active plans (at least for now), we made strides for you to easily bring the adventure to the VTT of your choice. We know that answers like this are not satisfactory, but we also don't want to deceive :).

As for a bigger campaign, it would be great to do that down the road, too. Though that brings it's own set of challenges with it and for example CALL FROM THE DEEP from JVC Parry took two years to complete. We certainly want to have something new & fresh out sooner than two years from now ;p.

I'm setting up the maps in preparation to running this for my friends and noticed that the player versions still show where the hidden traps and doors are on the Keep map. Was this intentional or something that was missed? It'd be great to have a version that didn't immediately announce to the players there's a trap under the carpet =P

Thank you Jocelyn for your call to attention. This is absolutely unintended & will be fixed as quickly as possible. It seems a layer did not properly hide, when prompted to! However, it will take a couple of hours to go through, as I am unfortunately nowhere near the office computer at the moment. But by evening (EU time) this should be fixed and I will let you know in the comments once uploaded

GOOD NEWS: By a stroke of luck (Sehanine be praised), I could update the files right NOW! If you redownload them, you should now get the correct version for your players within the map bundle. If the issue persists, try to clear your cache and wait a couple of minutes for the server to catch up.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
