If you are even considering going to Cormyr buy this book. It's of excellent quality, with full sized and labeled maps.

It seems there is an error in the NPC appendix. The War Wizard Alarphon is listed with a CR 28 (which would be nearly a greater god), but based on the 20,000 XP, I assume it was supposed to be a CR 18. Even then, I do not understand why it has such a high CR compared to the CR 12 War Wizard Veteran Battlemage. The main difference is the Alarphon has more HP and the Mind Siphon action which can only be used once until it recharges. Also, the Alarphon is a significantly lower level spell caster than the War Wizard Veteran--perhaps, you switched the spell casting stats? It seems a more appropriate CR for the Alpharon might be a CR 14.

Is this a 5th edition sourcebook? It looks extensive!

Hey, I've noticed a few missprints in the book, the worst offender is Table 3-1 in the chapter about Negotiation rules (p. 96) which is actually just Table 2-1 from exploration rules. Many times inside the description of attitudes (p 95) the text keeps referencing "helpful targets" when contextually it makes no sense.

Is there any chance we'll get an update to the PDF any time soon?

I love the book and its attention to detail, the sidebars are awesome, but it sucks that a $35 product has this many mistakes, especially vital stuff like table 3-1.

Thanks for pointing this out. I've been busy with another big project (and my two kids being home from school for the past few months), but I'll get on that as soon as possible.

In the meantime, the missing info is as follows:

I'll also go through and do a bit more to clarify NPC attitudes. Some of this was converted from my own system...See more

Even though the description of this product seems to be exactly what I searched for I will not pay $35 for a PDF. My commentary is not about quality of work since I have an actually seen it yet. I just simply won’t pay this much for a digital version. My gaming budget is limited and if I’m gonna spend $35 I need to have a physical book in my hand. I hope that the digital/PDF industry is not going to this. No offense to the publisher or any of those who did the work - it’s the price that causes me to pass on this. It’s a PDF. Please pass on the the production, logistics/distribution savings please. Peace.

Will there be a hardcover print-on-demand version of this? Because I'm super interested in buying a print version of this.

I've been waiting on WoTC to release a setting book like this. Got tired of waiting and bought your product. Suffice to say, I'm very pleased with the quality of this book. The formatting is nice, there's a sizable collection of maps, and an abundance of information. Everything you need to run a political intrigue game set in Cormyr. I just wish I could put it on the shelf with my other books.

a m a z i n g, bought it today and read through most of it in one sitting. I'd love to have more of these source books I can use for 5e, but will take this for mountains of inspiration. Dankeschön!

Very good job, I'm impressed by the simple yet great way to handle overland travels and social encounters. One thing I would like to address is the Table 3:1 Exchange Needed to Win Negotation, the table is identical to the Table 2:1 for Journey Difficulty. In addition, an example for social encounters would be very nice to understand the dynamic of the system :)

Also, I spotted another typo. The Interactions part of the argument "Presence" is identical to the one for "Emotional Appeal". I think it to be not intended but I could be wrong

Congratulations on the release of this product!

It’s about time Cormyr got some sourcebook-sized attention.

Rules Edition(s)
Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
