A D&D Tavern Menu

ADD TO WISHLIST >

"Why eat rations when you can eat like a king over at your local tavern" is a tag line used by most taverns as they know it's the easiest way to get in that adventuring parties coin pouch.

This addition is the first of a multi-volume series I'm working on for those pesky players that ask what the tavern serves upon asking if they would like entering. You can simply hand this out and have them pick out what they want. Not all food is the same, and some may or may not have side effects.

I hope you all enjoy it, and please feel free to leave some feedback.

Any chance you could adapt this to FG (Fantasy Grounds)?

(Going to be responding t this question rather than all 3 so don't think I didn't see your comments on the others)

At this current point I have never used the software, therefore, can not make any promises that I can transfer it t it. With that being said with my files now being for a fee im not quite sure if you can put up files on fantasy ground that would come at a said fee. If free subscription is allowed to the service I could try and put it up there but even hen it may be a somewhat niche item and on top of that your GM may just have a copy of it that the 'Bar maiden' reads off of or you find scattered notes with extracts of them in the case of the cannibal cookbook.

You are free to use it on Fantasy grounds if you already have the files. I will not stop you in any way shape or form but I will look into it if there is a way to still have the fee rather then having a certain few using my work freely on other platforms (As has happened prior).

If you can answer my unknown...See more

Rob Twohy can do the conversion for you if you're interested, he is fair about it and has converted roughly over 100 DMs Guild products for other authors.

Is there a preview option or is the product literally the length of the average menu?

Not at all, thank you very much. Will you be expanding upon the premise with high and low income restaurant menu's? Or perhaps race specific menu's? So when the PC's are sick of Elvish food they could go out to a Dwarven or Tiefling restaurant instead?

The second volume does focus more on the low-end town and or towns that don't really have much with regards to gold but yes I do intend to focus more on different regions even homebrew meals made from different monster parts. That being said all in due time as this is more of a part-time thing given I don't make much off of it.

The site takes 50% of the revenue because its the distributor. Do you really think you'd be able to reach as wide of an audience without it? That 50% goes to things like staff, server costs, bandwidth costs, etc Its not free to run a site like this you know?

I am aware of the price of running a server and a website as I have done and still do so till this day and most of my audience come from offsite groups. That being said they have a similar thing which is only 30% on the Drive Through RPG which is more justified then the 50%. That being said if you don't agree with me to each there own but considering the number of man-hours I put into making most of my documents it's unjustified. I am not here to start a riot or a discussion simply stating to the unknowing buyers that want to help me and my work that it would be easier for me to receive it via another platform directly given there's also a 30 day payout before I can see a singular cent resulting in it not being as accessible.

This is great, but just a little feedback: I'm colorblind, so all the dots denoting side-effects just look like various shades of red.

Hmm. Would you suggest I put a special version with letters on top of the dots to make it easier for you to be able to read them? If so this won't be a problem and ill get around to making the colorblind version within the next few days whilst I have some free time.

I can't guarantee it will be quick but I can try my hardest to have it out before the end of the month or the first week of July. I can also make the Colourblind version the printer friendly version as that would save me on time if that would work for you? (Printer-friendly meaning that I will remove all the stains and give it a regular white background)

Wow, that was fast! I'm grateful you took the time to do it, and I'll write a positive review.

One thing: the side effects are listed as brown, orange, red, and green, but your letters are B, Y, R, and G. I can't tell if the color behind the Y is yellow or orange, but I'll bet you meant for them to correspond. In any case, it's not really a problem...maybe just something to keep in mind if you decide to make another update.

Thanks again!

The letters are corresponding to the colors as you first thought. The color behind it is like a highlighter/crayon orange. If it is too much of a distraction I can make it lighter if that is what you would prefer.

No, it's not a distraction, but should it be an "O" instead of a "Y"?

You are correct. Must have just assumed i had changed the main colour to yellow. Ill have to fix that at some point.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
