Are you able to print out this PDF to keep with you for game sessions surrounding the G.o.S. campaign?

This really hits the spot. Well thought out (many low magic) encounters that perfectly match the setting.

A great, detailed colorful series of unique encounters, each really a hook themselves.

Introduced to AD&D in 1977, began serious play in 1981. I had the original modules and used them loosely then as scantly scripted they were written. I was a teen, I wasn't as involved with storyline and plot as I am now. Following a long hiatus was taught Pathfinder. Now I am in D&D 5e. I have adapted the Saltmarsh series to be included in my world of Alterra. The Southern Coast of Kash is home to "Saltmarsh" (heavily revised) for my home-brew. Looking for input from those interested in Pirates and smugglers. Deeply inspired by STARZ Black Sails and Nautical Campaigns by Great GM. As I journal, hope to share ideas to aid others in fleshing out their campaigns. I am open to others ideas on building worlds. If I parallel anything similar to our world it would be in the dark ages - Fall of Rome and the era of Charlemagne. Enjoy Asian culture immensely.

I used to love the 3 Saltmarsh modules. As a player I tore thru them. I played an elven ftr/mage. In that world, sea elves could pass for normal elves unless you examined their necks just under their ears and saw their gills. They could easily exist under water and on land. The toes and fingers were webbed and they could conceal the webbing. I loved my toon. I really wanted to play a lizardman and did in another dm's world. This was back during AD&D days. I actually started played in late 1975 when it first came out. I am now 60. I have played every D&D variation and enjoyed AD&D and the current 5e the most. I cannot wait to peruse this. I just wish I could find ppl to play with again.

Can I recommend you try playing online if you don't already? Hundreds of thousands of players out there now, looking for games.

We have a Barry Douglas running a Saltmarsh campaign now. His profile is the same as yours (above) except he started playing a year later than you. He was blown away by the Saltmarsh modules. He is having a hard time trying to convince us that he didn’t post this. He says there was a Barry Douglas working in the same Taxation Office back then before he got posted to Newcastle (?). Is this the same Barry Douglas? You should join us if you are in Sydney. Barry isn’t running a RPG game at the moment but a Saltmarsh campaign using the miniatures rules Dragon Rampart. We do have a DM running a RPG 5e game.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
