"When heroes sign up to protect the innocent and vulnerable, they don't expect that to include blood-drinking undead."

Much of the Eberron lore portrays the Blood of Vol as straightforward villains, but need that be so? The common people simply believe divinity comes from the blood within your veins, and revere intelligent undead as blessed martyrs who have given up their divinity to continue serving the community. This adventure imagines what it's like to be on the other side of a holy war against the undead.

The city of Thaliost, like the rest of Thrane, is ruled by of the CHURCH OF THE SILVER FLAME. The undead-revering faith of the BLOOD OF VOL, based in nearby Karrnath, has a substantial following in the city. Conflicts between followers of the two faiths are frequent.

In a mausoleum at the edge of town resides the undead LOREKEEPER DAL who carries the secret histories of the Blood of Vol and its people. Once a year he is roused from his deathless sleep to share his wisdom and provide rulings for the congregations during a ritual called the Ceremony of the Blood Moon. In return he receives the people's blood which sustains him and transfers their knowledge to him.

It's just a week before the Ceremony and Dal's mausoleum has been vandalized. PRIESTESS TRISS of the Blood of Vol is worried that someone is trying to kill Lorekeeper Dal and wipe out centuries of their history. This is where you come in.

Dreams of Undeath is an adventure of urban heist and intrigue for three to seven 1st or 2nd level characters. It runs in approximately four hours of play.

Hello Gregory, I recently purchased this adventure and have read through it all. I love it and can't wait to use it as the entry adventure to my new Eberror Campaign that actually centers around the Blood of Vol and the Silver Flame.

However the reason I am trying to reach out to you is to ask you a question about included this adventure into a Browser Extension that I am working on that Adds Homebrew Campaigns to D&D Beyonds website as adventures. The extension credits and links back to a source in which a user can purchase the content, if this is something you are interested in I would love to discuss it with you in more details. Let me know and we can get into contact.

Once again, thanks for writings such an amazing Adventure, can't wait to run it!

This is a great module he ran last week! The module is an investigation scenario in solving a crime and protecting a site. It provides plenty of hooks for a party of various backgrounds to solve and approach with different methods. I really liked the last scene as it puts the players in a tight spot that had us on the edge.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
